Aqua jogging and water weights

Has anyone had success with a strictly water workout plan for weight loss? I have been doing it for about a week and a half. I have seen nearly 4 lbs come off with a low sugar, fat, and caloric diet.
I have been guessing based on web research on how to do water weights and would like some input. I am looking for weight loss and toning work outs.
Also, I am not an experienced lap swimmer so any aerobic exercises or laps are welcome as well.
Thank you!

There are deep water workouts and shallow water aerobics. Water should be at chest level for the shallow end. I would encourage you to check out a water aerobics class to pick up a few ideas that you can use on your own. Otherwise just walking back and forth is good for you. And you can do punches forward and out to the sides also as you walk to incorporate your arms.0
