Why your weight is a meaningless number...

Even if they were all the same height, there are people who are small boned and people who are big boned. I am small boned and should weigh no more than 110; people my height who are big boned should weigh no less than 125.

Then why is my wrist half the size of another person who is the same height? And you are a fitness expert???
Out of curiosity, what is your wrist circumference?
Gosh, that was hard to measure! Six inches.
Mine is the exact same. Thanks for measuring.
I just wondered because I always thought I was "big boned", but now I find myself in the lower end of my recommended BMI and could easily lose lots more weight to be actually lean. I really do wonder whether this whole "frame size" business actually means anything. *shrug*0 -

Actually there are more dtailed explanations than that.0 -

I think it means some things. The same amount of fat on a small frame might hang...less appealingly, shall we say.
I was well within "normal" BMI with a healthy hip/waist ratio, and yet my navel circumference put me in the high risk group until this week. It's still very close to high risk! And I probably have a little more muscle than the average woman of my weight and height.0 -

Thanks! Apparently "small-boned" etc. is NOT a southern thing, but refers to body size and not the actual circumference of the individual bones.0 -
I'm 5'6.5", my wrists are 7" in circumference and I wear women's size 11 shoes. When I was in Basic Training I had to get boots and hats from the male side of the room. The height and weight chart says I should be 140-163, but I looked fine at 170 when I was in the military and when I was a full time yoga teacher.0

I agree - my point is that comparing your weight to someone else's is a pointless exercise.
And I admit the title of my thread was a bit misleading, but I wanted to make it sound interesting!!
I honestly don't think I have seen people with large differences in height compare weight.
If your 6 foot and someone is 5 foot it would be silly to compare weight, like obvious to the point I can't imagine people doing it.

Well I'm the perfect weight for a man who is 9' 7" tall. The bad news us I am only 6'4" tall. The good news is I used to be the perfect weight for a man who is 10' 8". So there's progress.0

What about people like me who have small fingers and hands? It makes sense that my fingers will not go around my wrists.
I do have wider hips and wider shoulders, short legs and a long torso). When I was fat people said I was big boned. Now that my weight is normal, I am smaller boned. To me, it's all just terminology. What matters is how I feel in my own skin.0
