Right, so you're going to put your trust in the Paleo diet. Look at Loren Cordain, lol;
Looks pretty damn healthy, right???

HA! I was just reading an article on this man earlier today. He lost his medical license in 2008.
http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/lundell.html"In 2008, the board reviewed Lundell's management of several more patients and revoked his medical license. The board's order mentioned that the board was investigating his care of seven patients because the Banner Desert Medical Hospital had suspended Lundell's surgical privileges [7]."
So yeah, you keep trusting a revoked Doctor.. go ahead. Be my guest.0 -

Heart Surgeons are coming out a blaming the high levels of sugars our bodies cannot take care of and it's causing inflammation to your arteries and lets not mention Diabetes! In 1961 they government came out with the stupid food pyramid that was not put together by our health dept. The Government has lied since 1961!

Yes, yes - it all makes sense now.
This is a bit off-topic, but I'm having trouble getting my hat to fit. How do you get all those intricate folds in the foil without tearing it?0 -
Paleo is just a 2 million year old fad!0

so you eat plant roots, grubs, raw meat, plants, etc that are local to your region? Because that is the true paleo diet.0 -

Looks like everybody has taken great care to go off topic.... There is some actual valid detail in the OPs question. I started on Uncle Toby's just this week and after looking at the detail on the box, I asked the same question in my head - can it be true that this food is awesome enough to eat as part of three meals, daily? There's many ways to make UncleToby's, I'm not interested in eating it bland or cooked straight from the packet, but it is acceptable and possible to eat it with any kind of fruit, even raisins etc. And to the haters - please check out the nutritional content of the product in question before going off about 'deficiency in this' and 'wasting away that'.
http://www.uncletobys.com.au/product_detail/uncle-tobys-traditional-oats-1kg/
Serving size 40g.
Ingredients: 100% UNCLE TOBYS Wholegrain Rolled Oats
I usually take 60-80gm of the product and 60-80gm of fruit and bring to the boil in 2 cups of water, then smoosh it all together to make porridge type consistency. No sugar added, no milk added. Tastes good, keeps me full until lunch, has goodness in it. The product is dried rolled oats, so it can be used to make things like energy bars and other bread or cake products.
Great question, all the haters - get over yourself.0 -

There are only so many ways to cook oatmeal, and I think most people would get sick of it pretty quickly regardless of how creative they are.
Also, one person came in here and derailed the whole thread, warning OP of the dangers of all those evil grains.0 -

Actually, Wikipedia says that the food pyramid was invented by Swedes in 1974.
And if you look closely at this picture of the Swedish Chef, you will see that there are pyramids with eyes hidden in the steam rising from his ears and the spice labels spell out "jet fuel can't melt steel beams."
You know that the pyramid is just a symbol of the Illuminati.

Wait a minute, that can't be the only reason you think this idea is lightweight?
I'm sure there are people out there who are too busy, like me, to care about the taste of food at all and are only interested in 'filling up the tank'. I hear you say it will get boring, trust me, I also eat bread everyday and it never gets old, certainly not in the last few decades.
This is a great source of protein and fibre and makes a great base to mix in a variety of other foods, like nuts, seeds, dried and fresh fruits. As I said, not straight out the packet plain, but as good quality fill. And, it's ridiculously cheap, about $4/kg (or about 20-25 servings).

Not a lot of people can stick to a bland diet in which food serves no other purpose other than just fuel.
Many people like to enjoy their food, be it with friends/family, at holiday gatherings, while traveling, or for many other reasons. It's not that they're less "busy" than you, it's just that food is a part of life and a pleasurable part at that.
You can view food as more than just "fuel" and be healthy and happy. There is no reason to force yourself to eat the same thing day in and day out for the sake of weight loss.0 -

I've just reached out to Nestle, will let you know when they get back to me.0

I can't believe you're cosigning her crazy monodiet. No mention in the OP of adding nuts or other sources of protein and fat. Hypothetically, should you lose weight? Sure. Can you stick with it long enough to see results, and will you be happy with your body composition at the end if you do? That's another question entirely.
You say hate, I say reality.0 -
The paleo diet was made up by misogynist jerks who want to write out the fact that women contribute more of the total calories in hunter-gatherer societies (therefore MORE properly called gatherer-hunter societies) than men do. :P
No lie. Women usually average around 70% of the total calories.
Oh, also, go explain to the Hazda that hunter-gatherers aren't supposed to eat lots of simple sugars.
(And DON'T tell me that today's hunter-gatherers are different from those of millennia ago because magic. They aren't.)0
