Periods messing up weightloss?

I haven't been at MFP for very long, but the last few days, I've been eating really well - fruits, vegetables, staying within my macros and calorie goal, working out and tonnes of water.
However, I feel SO bloated and enormous and awful.
Then, this morning, my period started and I feel like that explains alot. Does anyone else ever feel the same way when they're just starting / are on their period and even if you stick to your goals, do you find it difficult to lose weight?
Maybe it's just me and it's not a thing. Eurghhhhhhh.

Yes it's a thing
if you use the Search function you will see that it is such a thing there are normally 2 or 3 threads started a day asking the same question / or a variant of it0 -

Thanks for your reply anyway0 -
you asked if it was a thing .. I reinforced that it was a thing by telling you there are a number of threads started each day on it
I wasn't having a go
I don't care if you start a million threads on the same thing

Definitely a thing as rabbit says.
For me when I was losing: it was less of a thing the less I let carbs go wild just before, but even then 2-3Lbs was the norm just before my period, and 2-3Lbs when I ovulated. So I could predict the scale would go UP twice each month (and then not fret over it).
(google search is easier, fwiw)

oh i never thought about the ovulation
I've started my monthly gain. boo I know it's natural but I hate the bloat0 -
I gain 5-8# the day before I ovulate and it doesn't budge until the first day of my period, roughly 18/19 days later (I have a very long 37 day cycle). Then I lose that 5-8#, PLUS any real weight from the deficit I maintained during that time, in a 3-4 day span. Usually between 7-10# in a few days. The water weight stays off, and I lose at a normal rate (about 1# a week) until the next time I ovulate. My true loss is somewhere in the 4-6# range each month, though the scale will have moved 9- 14# total due to water weight.0
