For those who are coffee drinkers?

I think I would have to buy my own private island to live on because no one would be able to live with me.

I was a daily coffee drinker from around 13 years old until I quit at 31. By the end I was drinking 20oz of coffee that was basically sludge, super super strong.
Because of severe indigestion issues, I decided to swap it out for caffeinated black tea and it's been 2 years. It was rough, but I've had one tiny cup in those years and dealt with immediate stomach pain again.0 -
I work nights, so coffee and energy drinks were something I needed to stay awake for years. Now, it's basically just getting enough sleep and walking around whenever I get tired. I think I can manage without coffee.0

Edit: Yeah I'd get over it after a bit. But I still wouldn't do it.
Yeah. Two words - caffeine withdrawal.0 -
Just thinking about giving up coffee gives me a raging headaches and the heavy sads. I am down to only 1 cup of coffee each day (sometimes I may have 2 just depends what I have going on). I would never give up coffee completely unless I had to for some medical reason and I would not be happy about it. I would be like the Incredible Hulk for at least a week.

I don't think I'd be miserable but I wouldn't like it.
Last night my daughter challenged me to a day with no coffee in exchange for her behaving for a full day. Lolololol.0 -
I would probably end up in jail for murder. I gave it up for Lent one year and after about 3 days my family came to me with a big cup and held an intervention. I guess I'm not too pleasant when I withdraw.0

I would be fine.
I'm not very caffeine sensitive so I don't get the energy from it, at all. I just enjoy making mine sweet with Splenda and a few creamers..... almost like chocolate milk, lol.0 -
I had to for a little over two months when I was in basic training, over a decade ago. It was a miserable experience, and I am not ever going to do it again.
Actually, if you take the coffee intravenously, it doesn't count as drinking it, right? I could drink nothing but plain water for a month if that's the case. I know medics.0 -

Not sure because I might be unconscious the entire month.

I've done without it, and switched to tea before.0

Homicide.
Genocide.
Destruction of the earth.

I love coffee, but sometimes I'll drink it for a few days (12oz) and then won't for 2 or 3 days. It's doesn't seem to bother me. However, knowing I "couldn't" have it might make me crave it more and I'd be...sad
There are reasons people may have to give it up, cardiovascular disease of some sort, acid and ulcer issues, thankfully I'm not on of those. I am a person who could live without it surely, but I do love the smell and flavor of coffee with a little stevia and half and half. It's 8am, I think I'll make a cup now0 -
I just did this. Schedule was so hectic, I didn't get my morning coffee from April 1 until today. Today I had 3 cups and enjoyed every single drop. I had missed coffee but survived without it lol0

....dead I'm pretty sure0

That would be my basic reaction...sad rage...0 -
I would be able to. I don't want to, because I feel I am addicted to it. I have juiced in the mornings before though and I'm sure would feel equally energized if I did that. I recently cut down to a 1/2 pot a day from drinking an entire pot. Caffeine is just as addicting as anything else.0

OP you make me think sad thoughts0

Christ - this thread made me go brew a fresh press. OP, you've really put me in a funk.0

I would be divorced ;-)
I don't think my DH could survive me without caffeine....0 -
I gave it up one year for Lent... but I found myself drinking Coke in the mornings to put off the head aches. Don't consider that truly giving it up though as I just switched to something else. It still sucked.0

The day I have to give up my coffee would be the end of life for me, so no need to worry about what I would drink as a substitute.0

There are no words to describe the horror of that reality. I'd likely slip into a coma though, so at least I could cope with it in unconciousness.0
-
There would be violence if I had to give up my coffee.
