I've found that tea only helps diet/weight loss when you drink a LOT of it...4-6 cups a day. Even doing that, though, tea by itself isn't going to produce really quantifiable results. I love green tea and I drink it several times a week instead of coffee. The only real benefit that I FEEL is that I don't get a crazy caffeine buzz and I feel a little cleaner for the rest of the day without the sugary bloat that tends to accompany my coffee...

I drink tea because I like the flavor, doesn't add to my calories, and is a change from water. While there may be antioxidants that might be beneficial for health (conflicting evidence to that), there's no benefit for weight loss.

I drink a lot of tea because I like it, but I'm not convinced it has any noticeable health benefits and am very sceptical of claims that it can aid weight loss. Maybe if you start drinking tea instead of sugar laden rrinks you will be saving calories but other than that I can't see how it can help.

I drink tea because I love it. Several studies I have seen indicate caffine might help one lose weight, but it isn't significant. I think generally tea helps you lose weight if you are drinking a lot of calories and switch to tea and water only. Tea has hardly any calories so that can help.

I have read that about oolong. I drink it sometimes and I haven't noticed a definite difference. The only difference I noticed is my stomach seemed better when I drank it hot and in moderation. I have a lot of stomach issues and that actually seemed to help. I say drink it cause it's a great tea!

However tea can definitely help curb cravings. For some reason if I want soda I can drink Good Earth's sweet and spicy tea and that satisfies that craving.

I love me a cuppa! I drink a massive mug of breakfast blend several times a day, and log a cup of milk each day (the amount I have in my tea each day). As I don't put sugar in it, I don't have to worry about that. I don't think it has weight loss effects, but tea makes me happy!

All of this for me too. Love my tea!

If tea helped you lose weigh I would not be obese. Or maybe I'm an outlier. I love tea and drink it all day long. In fact, I am gaving a cup right now.

PS. I have always wanted to say cuppa but with my Puerto Rican accent it sounds too funny.

I love earl grey with milk and stevia. I use tea to signal the end of a meal, it really helps. Also to kick the snack habit, I have a cup of tea instead.

So it definitely has helped with my weight loss in that way.

    I love tea threads.

Yup, I love tea and have recently "graduated" to loose leaf tea blends thanks to a tea session at my sister's place. They bring new dimension to teas that teabags may not necessarily reach.

Gunpowder Green tea infused with rose petals. zOMG.
Chocolate and cinnamon infused black tea. zOMG.
    Turkish apple tea. zOMG.
    Oriental Mango tea. zOMG.
Pineapple, passionfruit and mandarin orange tea. zOMG.
    Regular matcha. zOMG.

And on days I run out or want a quickie - good ol' English breakfast or Green Tea by Twinings, Lipton/Tetley.

All brings such calm to my day and bonus ZERO CALORIES!! Perfect to slip in an almost guilt-free scone with a bit of fig jam during cheat days. :D

I drink 6-8 cups of black tea with milk, no sugar everyday. Have done since my teens. I don't think it helps with weight loss at all unfortunately.
I will add that I never eat breakfast, because all the milk i drink must fill me up. It equals to 107 calories, which is a fair bit less than a bowl of cereal or toast etc

I love tea, but i will never ever drink a "diet" tea. Upset stomach is not my favorite sensation.

I like all sorts of black tea, green tea, herbal teas, fruit teas, thai tea, etc.

I like a variety of chai teas. I add a small amount of frothed milk and stevia.

Tea is great, I drink a lot of it during the day. It has not helped me lose weight at all. It might if you replaced unsweetened tea for sugary drinks but then so would water.

I drink tons of tea and even worked at a tea shop while in school. I love roasted green teas, classic blacks, some oolongs, and occasionally I have herb tea from the garden (mint, stevia, and lemon balm is my favorite combo).

I count tea towards my water intake, always having at least 2 liters of fresh water and about a liter of tea a day for the 3-4 liters I aim for.

If I'm feeling snacky but am not actually hungry an apple and a cup of full-flavored tea like the teecino brand roasted tea is perfect, or a large pot of lemon rooibos with a dab of honey tides me over.

I think if I drink strong black tea it makes me hungrier later in the day. For me there aren't dieting benefits. It's more of a pleasure thing.

Home made matcha lattes will save you calories if you are a fancy coffee drink addict too.

I drink unsweetened cold brew* tea all day. Water just doesn't do it for me, and drinking zero calorie tea has helped me lose, but I'm replacing my usual Dr. Peppers with it. I think the main health benefit is replacing a possible calorie-laden drink.

I love oolong tea. It reminds me when my mom and I used to go to the local Chinese restaurant for dinner when my dad was on business trips.

*cold brew tea doesn't have the bitterness and mouth drying effects. I love it!

I don't drink a whole lot of tea, but when I do it's iced. As for weight loss, tea has not magic properties that help in weight loss. It's just another beverage. :)

My tea is always without milk and so weak as to not be sure it's not actually just water! But, it's refreshing, comforting, and whatever else I need it to be at the time :-) Green tea, Lady Grey (milder than Earl Grey), breakfast tea, peppermint tea (helps with grumpy IBS). Usually have the leaves rather than a tea bag; my tea is so weak that this way packets last forever!

Yes, just started it and the weight is dropping off severely for me. I also notice that my appetite has reduced a bunch as well. I have read that if you drink a liter a day of oolong that you will lose close to 1lb of belly fat per week. I am about a week in and i have drank everyday but not a liter.

Here is my stats for the last week
    Weight - 6.7lbs loss
Body Fat % - 6.2% (this isnt very accurate as i use a smart scale for the measurements)
    Neck - No change
    Waist - 2mm loss
    Hips - .5mm loss
    Stomach 2mm loss

In addition, oolong tastes a lot better as iced tea

I support you saying it! I'm actually from Canada but have lived in England for years, and my hubby is English. If I can get away with saying it with my accent, you can too! :)

That's not good, and it's not the tea causing weight loss. It's because you are eating too few calories.

There's nothing magical about Oolong tea, If you're losing weight while drinking a lot of it it's probably caused by other changes you've made to your diet.

Woooo, tea! I run my own little tea bar so I love tea <3. My breakfasts the past couple weeks have included an iced matcha latte. About a cup of milk on ice, ~ Tbs of sugar free vanilla syrup, and two teaspoons of matcha. I love how it's so refreshing and gives me a gentle energy boost.

Another one of my favorites is Harney & Son's Hot Cinnamon Spice. It tastes like those little cinnamon disc candies, but there's no sugar in it, it's just a brain trick from all the cinnamon. Cinnamon is supposed to be good for stabilizing blood sugar too, so, I guess that's nice. I just drink tea for the taste tho. It's not magical or anything, sadly lol.

I drink tea almost daily. Although I don't really think it's helping my diet because of any properties of the tea, having something hot to drink with no calories in it helps me stay on track with my eating plan.

I love black/white teas with milk. And I recently discovered that you can make overnight fridge tea with herbs from the garden. My favorite right now is 4 white tea bags in a pitcher of cold water (do not use hot water), add a handful of Lemon Verbena and/or Mint leaves and let steep for 8-12 hours overnight in the fridge. Very refreshing!!!
