I wish they would pick their advertisers better.

You can eat cereal and still lose weight.

Having said that, the ad's aren't specifically picked, but are generated by a server based on a combo of the content of MFP and your own browsing history. All it takes is for you to have been in a forum thread where someone mentioned that cereal and you can get ad's for it. That's how internet advertising works these days.

^This. I get ads for clothing brands that I've looked at, hair dye (from when I was searching for hair dye coupons), amazon prime watch list reminders, etc.

I don't care what they advertise as long as nothing is popping up in the center of the screen and myfitnesspal remains a free service to use ^-^

No they're not. Even if you search for anything in the MFP database, it will show up.

Although I'm not sure why I keep getting plus size clothing ads.

This. I hate cereal (I know, it's a weird quirk), and I've never actually gotten an ad for one.

I did get an ads for what seemed like forever for cricket-based protein powder and "Larvae" because I searched for cricket flour during a discussion on some thread here, which may have been a mistake. ;-) I also get lots of ads related to books I've looked at on amazon and my profession and local stuff (Bruce Rauner and Rahm used to show up constantly, but now that those elections are over that seems to be too, thank goodness!).

I get those too. Some of them seem like places I would have liked to know about when I was in plus sizes, oh well. Not regaining just so I can buy them!

I like it when my ads tell a story:

Stop that! Now I'm going to get ads for them! Xp

Seriously, the ad that popped up a lot yesterday on my comp was for Asian wives.

    1. Straight 2. In a relationship 3. Not really interested in owning people as property (not refering to marriage in general here, but the whole "buy a wife" thing.)

    I don't even know how...

Then again, I am on a work computer. Maybe my predecessor had different tastes... *shudders*

I don't browse cereal sites. High sugar cereals is not a good way to lose weight. Sugar is not very healthy for anyone. Sugar substitutes are worst.
