Actually, very simply, the body is continuously doing catabolism and anabolism at the same time. The body breaks down molecules (catabolism) to create energy (ATP), which supplies the anabolic system. It has to do this all the time, regardless of the situation (reaction still must take place, whether a overfat beginner or an all star athlete). This ongoing reaction is your metabolism at work.
Genetics and diet and drugs/hormones play major roles on how effective they work together.0 -
I don't know about you guys, but I feel high intensity workouts are the best for gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time. Some people may say "no its not good for you, you put your body through too much stress."
Interval training can be an important component of overall fitness, yes.
