LADIES, if you had the choice......

I'm a bit torn. I really want slim legs so I can enjoy pencil skirts without wearing spandex under it, but if I'm being honest I'd prefer abs.
I do a *kitten*-ton of leg-intensive stuff, so I probably won't have "slim" legs, but I certainly have powerful ones. If I could, I'd have legs thick in profile, but "slim" in front-view, if that makes sense. My legs right now look thick from the side, but are slimmer-looking from the front, but I have too much inner-thigh flab. If I can get rid of that inner thigh flab, I think I'll be just fine to enjoy those pencil skirts or light summer dresses without spandex under it.
That said, nothing is as sexy to me as a defined 6-pack, especially on women. I fantasize about reaching that point myself and doing photoshoots to show it off, ha ha!0 -

This!
But even when I have a 6pack I have too much fat on my thighs for my liking. I don't want them skinny-but I would prefer that everything came off more evenly. I have to be VERY lean in order to have defined thighs. It's not really sustainable for me-so far
Exactly my point!
I'm the same.

Legs, definitely. I can get a corset for the stomach if I really need to.0

Can I choose whose abs?0
-
Flat tummy/abs I like my legs0

I think I'd want whichever one I didn't have hahah.
My body kind of holds the extra weight on my stomach, but it's relatively even still... so I'm good with what I have0 -
neither?
I'd love to have abs- but I mean- I want my strength gains more- so I keep my legs and my gains and have a moderately "flat" stomach.
Which by the way- what the *kitten* does that even mean- we aren't boards. I'm pretty "lean" and in no world is my stomach flat- even though its "is flat"
we should get off this concept we are supposed to be flat- we're people- not boards of wood.0 -

Flat stomach. I don't want thin legs. I want big, strong, muscle-defined legs.0

Well I'd prefer it if my body shape wasn't "bird".0 -

you're a person. which to me.... means- you're shaped like a person. person shaped.
what does "bird" shaped mean?
I guess I'm just confused with what's wrong with just being the best version of the body you have without a label?0 -

My arms and legs are always skinny and all excess weight is in my stomach. So nothing fits normally and I have to either wear clothes that fall off my legs or have uncomfortable muffin top. I wish that my stomach were more proportional (which it will be if I can continue shrinking). How about "flatter"?0 -
Stomach. I'm never going to have 'skinny' legs. I have muscular legs and always have. But my son was 10lbs. 8oz. and I gained over 100lbs with him. That stretched out my skin and it's never going back to the way it was. Son is now 22 so yes, I know it's not a "matter of time".0

This is the point I'm at right now.
I have a roll/skin fold that has some fat but is mostly an issue of diminished elasticity/genetics. As in, if the skin was back where it should be, I'd just have a slightly rounded stomach, which I would be fine with. I would dearly love to see it gone. Not a flat stomach or 6 pack, just no lumpy roll. But at this point the rest of my body is lean and losing more weight just makes my arms and legs thinner and my strength stalls/diminishes. I'm sure I could get a flat stomach but I would look emaciated and be weak. (And I'm just talking about myself so I don't want others assuming I think all women with flat stomachs/6 packs look like that.) That's not what I want so right now I've chosen to up my calories and work on building strength because focusing on my midsection is, for me, the very definition of spinning my wheels.0 -
Perky boobs LOL0

Flat tummy ain't happening here (3 kids in 3 years and c-section, I'll always have a little extra and I'm ok with that!) so I choose legs. Would love to add a few inches to them while we're at it.0

Due to women's body shapes (especially Pear or Apple types), we tend to be slimmer in either the upper or lower body.
For example, i can be very slim on top but my Legs don't necessarily match my upper half. Even if i lost another 10 pounds, my Thighs would still be bigger compared to my top half.
Just like some women have slim Legs, but carry more fat around the stomach area, their Legs may get leaner while still having belly fat.
Sure, but that's my point. I'm not a pear, but an apple. My legs aren't fat, even my thighs are thin enough (but for some loose skin, sigh), I'd prefer if I had more fat on my butt and hips (but hopefully squatting will eventually help with the butt part!), but even so losing enough to get visible abs wouldn't hurt my legs at all, I don't think. I'd instead be too skinny (possibly) around the chest--I'd probably keep enough of my breasts, based on results so far, but would have overly visible collar bones, ribs, possibly face. I don't worry much about my legs getting too skinny, as I've got enough muscle there to have nice shape.
Not that I've come close to getting to the visible abs territory yet, so maybe I'm wrong.0 -
Maybe this should have been in Chit Chat Fun and Games, since you are stating you must choose.
From a serious perspective, hell yeah I want both! However I also understand that fat loss has a mind of its own and will come off wherever it wants.
To play along with the game, flat stomach. I hate the muffin top more than my big thighs.

I had a flat stomach and slim legs before I gained weight. I intend to have both again.
Even when obese my legs were never really big. I currently have slim legs but still a larger belly (apple). Realistically, my legs aren't going to balloon up as I lose more belly fat. They probably won't get any smaller either. I care much more about having a slimmer/flatter stomach area than about my legs being slim. i would like to have a healthy waist to hip ratio.
I bet almost all women are going to say a flatter belly if they have carried a lot of weight in their belly. It is hard looking like you are pregnant when you are not. It is hard getting clothes to fit a large belly and smaller hips. A big belly makes it harder to do some exercises or daily tasks. I would never choose a bigger belly over bigger legs.0 -
Strange question. You kind of just have what you have and you get where you get to...
But ok - I don't know, as a pear, I've had the flat abs, but I've never had sleek, elegant legs, so I wonder what that'd be like.0 -
Slim legs. Having a little bit of a stomach is actually normal for women, so that doesn't bother me as long as it's not enough to give me the dreaded muffin top.0
