    Oh and by the way, I'm a 5'7", 37 year old woman of 158 lbs and I can eat an average of 2700 calories daily and maintain my weight.

    I tried on Scooby and there is a big difference between the different BMR calculators!

    Mifflin St-Jeor
    1-3 hours exercise a week - 2625
    3 - 5 hours - 2959

    Harris-Benedict
    1 -3 hours 2956
    3-5 hours 3332

    (I wasn't sure about the exercise as 40 minutes x 4 is less than 3 hours, but you did put a + after the 40!).

    It might be worth working out body fat % and seeing how the other calculators come up. Going from the above it looks like you should be aiming under 3000 rather than over to lose weight.
