I ran 2 miles 1 minute faster than yesterday. I was pretty proud of myself.
Oh and my daughter finally said that she misses me! It only took 2 weeks

The town I grew up in had this spectacular playground called Project Playground. The playground really was a symbol of how a community could come together. The playground was built by donations from the community. People donated time, they donated money, companies donated equipment. The playground really was constructed with the communities blood, sweat, and tears. The result was a playground in Alaska that was in the top 50 playgrounds in the nation. It was a place where kids played and memories were made, including my children who were not from Alaska. When I would take them back home, they would go there and play and it was always special to me to see them play there.

A week ago, two people set fire to the playground, doing about $1 million in damage, basically destroying the entire playground.

Tonight, the city had a meeting. It sounds like the community will have to raise $100,000 as a deductible payment and the insurance will pay for the rest of the rebuild.

Many people think a playground is just a playground, but Project Playground really was a part of the community and was enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

Hearing that it is on its way to be rebuilt really put a smile on my face tonight. Tomorrow I'll be mailing my check to help with the rebuild and hopefully my employer will match :)
