What made you smile today?

This sounds silly, and it is - but it made me smile (so, regardless of how simple it is, it ought to be celebrated! (: )
I've been in physical pain lately, so this morning's walk was a physical and mental challenge.
At one point along my route, a squirrel dashed in front of me, and ran up a tree. I walked passed it, but then was curious to see what it would do next (I didn't think it would really do anything other than continue up the tree as if it was running for its life - but, I figured a minute's break from the trying walk wouldn't hurt -- and I love animals).
Anyway, I stopped to watch the little nutty fella, standing just far enough away from the tree to not send him fleeing again. He was stiff, almost blending into the trunk, facing upside-down, his head nearest the ground (like a headstand). He remained like that for almost a minute (twitching his fuzzy tail every so often), then, suddenly, he stretched his front legs beyond his head and his mouth expanded to a tiny "O". He hung like this for a few seconds, his legs trembling from the effort.
I don't use the word "cute" very often, becuase I think it is overused - but, if anything is "cute", this was one of the cutest things ever. My ailments, the sharp aches in my body were cast from my present consciousness.
I guess I could have just said "I saw a squirrel yawning as he stretched upside down on a tree" - which is really all I saw - but that just doesn't amount to how endearing the sight was.
I wish I had caught a photo in time!! We all ought to have a yawning squirrel, or another simple life pleasure, bring a smile to our face - every. single. day.1 -

You are so kind - to read my very lengthy, poorly-constructed story AND to respond. "Thank you" are two words that are said too much to emphasize how exceptional your gesture is.
Knowing I stirred up good feelings in someone's heart today makes me feel like today was a day well lived. (:0 -
That gorgeous smile, big hug and little peck on the cheek I received when I showed up to the job site today. βΊοΈ1

My twin 2yr old grandkids.
Went to sit on Santaβs lap,
the girl screamed and ran away and the boy sat there looking at Santa like he wanted to punch him.
When Santa said, βsay cheeseβ he turned and stuck his tongue out at Santa.
It was funny.1 -

Seems like the birds know that snowβs coming.
I went out to fill the feeders and they were practically landing on me.
Everywhere, birds, all different kinds, a little strange but gave me a smile. π0 -

Deciding I was important enough to go ahead and upgrade to Premium on MFP given I've used it every day for 337 days. I am still on my journey from the 400's and am hovering in the 200's. I thought I would give the gift to someone I loved if she asked. So I Did. I am going to use it well and not do it alone. Be good to you too.1
