how to use my fitness pal with keto diet

I am interested in switching to keto diet but I would like to know if the kilojoule predictions are accurate. Do I need to adjust anything to know what I can eat each day for my weight and height and age and sex?

Enter all your data; age, sex, height, starting weight, base activity level and desired weight loss into mfp and it will calculate your daily calories. Keep in mind this is just an estimate based on assumptions so you might need to experiment a bit to figure out what works. In terms of custimising it to suit a keto diet, all you really need to do is adjust your macronutrient levels manually so that your carb, fat and protein targets are correct for your desired diet (the custom option is under goals in the home tab).

A keto diet has different macros. I would reset them to 5% carbs, proteins 20%, fat 75%. You'll want to eat at a slight deficit compared to your TDEE. For example, my TDEE is just over 1800 calories and my goal is 1430 calories per day. (I'm a 41yo, 5'8" woman, ~174 lbs, who is sedentary).

You still need to eat at a deficit to lose weight. Inside that constraint, you can change your macros to keto-friendly values.

Thank you for all the help. Its taking time to change over and there are a few side effects but I have heard so many good things about it.
