2000-ish, a little more depending on how much exercise I fit into a day. I try not to come in under that number.

I've read many sources that say at least 1200 calories/day.
    I've been eating b/t 1400 & 1700 and am losing weight steadily.
When I ate around 1200, I did not lose much.

    This!^

1200 is not a magic number for every woman..... some of us are tall, some of us are big boned, etc....... 1200 is just the lowest number MFP is programmed to give.

Re: losing weight FAST ..... losing weight as quickly as possible results in a smaller version of the current you. HEALTHY weight loss results in a lower body fat percentage. Trying to lose too fast we result in muscle loss.

1,100 PLUS exercise calories is still too low for most women. This makes it really hard to get proper nutrition, let alone allow you to keep existing muscle mass.

I've heard from many experts, including my personal trainer, that below 1,200 is really bad, and can send you into starvation. I net about 1240 a day, but I eat more than that because I work out every day.

It has taken me just 90 days to lose 20 lbs, so with some activity, I think you should come close - good luck, but don't starve yourself. It messes with your metabolism, canabolizes muscle and makes you cranky

MFP sets my goal at 1310 a day for a 1.5 pound a week loss, I try to net as close to that as I can. Though the weight loss has slowed recently so I'm considering dropping it to 1 pound loss a week which will up it to around 1500. Again I'll try to net that, so eat back my exercise cals.

eat more to weigh less. I am currently eating about 1850 calories on days when I work out and on non work out days I am eating about 1500 calories. On hard work out days or any days in general I try to net 1500 calories. You need to bump up your calories.

It depends on my activity level for that day.
    When I don't workout, I'm around 1,640.
If I do get a workout in, depending on the intensity level, anywhere from 1,800 - 2,000+

My base is 1800 cals/day. With exercise cals, I usually get to 2200-2400. Getting a loss of 0.5-1.0 lbs per week with that.

on 2300 right now....gradually increasing every week because i f***ed myself up initially by eating 1600 cals a day.
yes i lost weight...i turned into a skeleton. never going down that road again. you wont get fat eating 2000+ calories...just make sure the intake is consistent and then your body will adapt.
i`ve been burning fat and feeling better reverse dieting and so far its been awesome. i look and feel great and i get to eat loads more and im simply going to keep upping that number until i hit around 2500.

I'm 5'3, 155 1bs with a goal weight of 140 1bs or 25% body fat. I currently gross about 1700 calories and am considering upping to my TDEE (2100) for a few weeks to give myself a 'diet break', then drop again to a 10% deficit so 1900 calories...

Sometimes I think that if I eat less I'll lose the weight but I know that's not good for my body, and I fell into the 1200 calories a day trap for a year, often netting under 1000 calories a day. No wonder my metabolism is a mess!

Do a search on MFP for 'eat more to lose weight' and read away. I lost 9 pounds eating more.

My goal is 1700 but it varies according to circumstances anywhere from 14's and 15's to well over 2000. However, my exercise burn is high enough to still give me a deficit every day .I've lost around 16 lbs. in 135 days, which is about the right rate for me. I don't want to lose weight fast.

My daily goal is to burn between 1300 to 1500 calories a day from exercise on top of the calories my body burns to function. While doing this I also set my calorie goal to be right at 750 calories less than I burn. My starting weight was 170.2 three weeks ago, current weight is 161.2 and goal weight is 130. I've lost 3 lbs a week and I am eating more than I usually eat and the weight is finally coming off.

    Rest days: 1850 cals
Active days: 2000-2700 (ish) depending on my level of activity. I'd say most days I eat around 2300 though.

When I first started here I was eating 1000 calories a day because I thought "eat less, weigh less". Then I bumped it up to 1200 and still could barely get through a workout without feeling like I was going to pass out. Since I came to my senses, I've moved around anywhere from 1800 to 1400 calories a day and I'm consistently losing 1-2 lbs a week now.

I could not survive on 1000 cals. Some days I hit 1700!

    5'5

    SW: 200lbs
    CW: 150lbs
    GW: 144lbs

I am currently set at 1420 calories in order to lose 1lb per week but I'm going to change it to 1600 at 0.5lb loss as I want to eat more, yum!
