So how does everyone like the Fit Bits? I would like to get the one that reads your heart rate and get rid of the one I have to wear around my chest (that sounds so 90's). But how accurate is the Heart rate monitor for it? That's my main concern.

Had the Surge and did not work for me. Belonged to a few different Surge forums and it was somewhat polar in good and bad reviews. I worked with Fitbit, and they try updating things, moving it all over the place, etc, but still would not register correctly for me. I returned it eventually, sold my other one off, and I am back to the chest strap and my MotoACTV.

I have a Fitbit charge HR. It's good. I think the battery life could be better. I certainly wouldn't follow it's calorie suggestion. Sometimes I feel its way off on the calories burned during an exercise.

I've read good reviews about the Scosche Rhythm+ armband. This guy here does some pretty in-depth reviews on a ton of wearable HR gadgets. http://www.dcrainmaker.com

The only way to gauge the accuracy is to trust your Fitbit for a few weeks, then reevaluate your progress. I lost the weight & have maintained for more than a year thanks to Fitbit + MFP.

I have the Charge HR. I have no idea how accurate the HRM is though, as I have nothing to compare it to. Here's what Fitbit has to say about it: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/Heart-rate-FAQs#Competition
