I would never in my wildest dreams consider that pun to be fat shaming. It's about all people, not just fat people. I find it really intriguing on a perception and sociology level that you took it that way.

As for the topic at hand, I am saddened that you eat 500 to 700 calories daily. Sometimes it is hard to fit it in, especially when you start eating "healthy" low calorie, low density food. Today I had a long, hard day at work. I usually eat dinner at 5:30pm. I am just eating dinner now. However, I have to get my calories in....so I am having full fat dressing and full fat cheese and a bunch of nuts...and mmmm....some ice cream for dessert. It's a good deal to get in before bedtime, but I value fueling my body.

I respect your perspective. Have a nice day.

It seriously has nothing to do with you.

This is what it means and all it means.

If I said ... You're as hungry as a horse... Would that have nothing to do with you?

why dont you stop arguing and just read some of the advice and if you have questions about that ask?
You are going back and fort...and to me it seems you enjoy that a lot!

Theres some conflict with what your Dr says, but it sounds wrong or I cant understand why they would have you avoiding carbs. Clear it up with them. If you have just started your diet then I wouldnt get overly concerned because a lot of it can be water weight and the weight loss will stabilise.

You do need to figure out what your correct calorie intake should be.
You do need to eat a min 1200 and probably more calories a day for sufficient nutrition.
Get some friends with open diaries.
    Start logging your food.
get recipes from the recipes section and ask for the websites they use.

The last time I asked for food advice I was told to google it.

    LOL. :)

I still think you should google it. I don't get why that would make you mad. You don't know calorie dense foods, so to educate yourself I suggested google. That's what I did when I wanted a full list of high protein foods. I wanted to educate myself on that subject not hear about what people ate.

No! I wouldn't take it that way at all! Because I often am as hungry as a horse. This goes for when I was overweight AND thin

Did your doctor tell you not to eat carbs because of a medical condition or just because that was his dietary advice?

Given that virtually everything except meat contains carbohydrates (yes, even vegetables!), it's unlikely your doctor told you to consume zero carbohydrates. Did your doctor recommend this due to health issues or as a weight loss plan?

As of today, I have no medical conditions (besides obesity).
I got blood work done and I am waiting on the results. I doubt it but I don't want to jinx it.
I guess he just wants to stay on the safe side.

if that is the case and he told you to eat zero carbs then you need new doctor, or need to stop taking nutrient advice from him.

You can eat carbs and lose weight. I get anywhere from 35-40% of my calories from carbs and I am down about 11 pounds on my most recent cut.

    I would suggest the following:
    1. Enter stats into MFP and set for x amount of weight loss.
    2. Eat to the number that MFP gives you.
    3. get a food scale and weigh all solid foods, and as many liquids as possible.
    4. log everything
    5. make sure that you are using correct MFP database entries
    6. realize that there are no bad foods and that while the majority of foods should come from nutrient dense sources, there is nothing wrong with having pizza, ice cream, cookies, etc, as long as ones micro and macro needs are met.
    7. macro setting are typically .85 grams of protein per pound of body weight; .45 grams of fat per pound of body weight; fill in rest with carbs.
    8. find a form of exercise that you like and do it < not necessary for weight loss, but is for overall health and body comp.

I would suggest reading the below link:

    sidesteels guide:
    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants

oh and calorie dense foods = full fat yogurt and cottage cheese, cookies, ice cream, chips, etc. yes, you can eat those foods, lose weight, and be healthy.

If no one thinks "Don't bite the hand that feeds you..... pun intended" is a fat shaming joke then good on you.

    I do.

I….is the following a guideline yet?

    giphy.gif

    Dear Posters,

I wanted to offer a brief explanation for the locking of this thread.

The forum guidelines include this item:

    2. No Hi-Jacking, Trolling, or Flame-baiting

Please stay on-topic within a forum topic. Off-topic or derogatory remarks are disrespectful. Please either contribute politely and constructively to a topic, or move on without posting. This includes posts that encourage the drama in a topic to escalate, or posts intended to incite an uproar from the community.

In many cases we are able to edit out the posts that violate this guideline, but unfortunately this particular thread has become too volatile to moderate efficiently. I can't even.

If you would like to review the forum guidelines, please visit the following link:

At our discretion, this locked thread may be deleted entirely in the near future.
