Wow that's ingenious. LMAO. I'm going to try that.
Do you eat ground beef?0 -
No. It's a pun that has been around for decades that was only funny because it's about food and we are on a food app. It has nothing to do with weight! It's like saying "Don't kill the messenger." It's the same meaning and you're reading way too far into it.0 -
try eating some fish and grilled chicken. you can also have some carbs. I stay away from white carbs. so like white bread, white rice, pasta. i don't know know about everyone else but they do not keep me full for long and make me CRAVE chocolate.
try brown rice, farro, quinoa, (i wasnt a fan of quinoa but i hear people love it, but i LOVE farro)
It's very easy to incorporate veggies. i like to add spinach to everything i eat. peas are also good. you can just mix it in the grains.
i don't measure/log everything i eat but i do measure my carbs and fruit so i'm not over eating. i also will measure out my meat. i have a scale that tells me the nutrition facts for the amount of food i put on it. basically you type in a code and weigh your food. like cherries or a peach, raw salmon. sometimes ill weigh something and not like that this tiny amount of food has THIS many calories to ill opt for a healthier alternative.

that's the scale i have.
feel free to add me
My mother was telling me about this measuring scale. I'll look into it definitely. Thanks.0 -

Yeah, that was a joke about food. About eating. In a thread about food, and eating. You've got some serious projection going on, OP.0 -
lol very entertaining reading all of this.
but for you question
I lost a lot of weight in my first month 32 pounds (about)
your weight loss will slow down fast. Just like by all of us.
Now for eating...i eat it all i just keep my deficit. And indeed when i am low some calorie dense foods
And every night i eat a huge bowl of popcorn about 320 calories worth of delicious popcorn
All carbs mam...
And i lost 101 in 8.5 months.
denying yourself food groups will result in wanting them more and more. And when you fail to fight the graving you will (over) eat them.
I chose to eat it all pasta potato EVERYTHING! and i lose weight just fine. I am not hungry or have gravings. Because when i want a big mac i will eat it. And just fit it in my daily calorie allowance.
The only clever trick is...to eat NOT TOO MUCH!
And learn moderation.
So weigh your food on a scale and add some fresh veggies and eat those carbs too lol.
And for the part you never ate a lot
You ate enough to get to the weight you are now...just like all of us.0 -

The fact is that it is a funny pun about fat people.
The fact that you feel I am reading too far into is completely subjective.
I didn't read into it any further than it calling it what it is... a funny pun about fat people; which is fat shamming.
...nothing ground breaking about that discovery.
Do you have any questions?0 -

Sometimes I do, but only like out at a restaurant like a burger. no one in my house really likes red meat, so we mainly eat a lot of chicken(cook a whole one minus skin in a crockpot) or we make pork chops grilled, tuna fish and egg salad, boiled eggs for snacks or a quick take a long for work dinners. I saw someone mention turkey tacos, I love those too. and usually make mine into a taco salad sometimes working in the taco shells, but i have 2 and break them up into the taco salad, I find it more filling this way.

hey guys we are all on this site for one thing. and that is to get healthy! some need to gain or lose weight. some are working to get stronger but at the end of the day we are all in this together. Let's not bite each others heads off.0

@Naja_ I eat almonds for calorie dense food. I eat them daily. I also blend coconut oil with my coffee or smoothie. And avocado is a healthy, calorie dense food. And, I add olive oil to my salads.0

It was directed towards me. I was told to "not bite the hand that feeds me."
I thought myfitnesspal would be the last place where someone's eating habits would be a joke.
I stand corrected.
Keep being passive aggressive and not seeing my point tho..

Theres some conflict with what your Dr says, but it sounds wrong or I cant understand why they would have you avoiding carbs. Clear it up with them. If you have just started your diet then I wouldnt get overly concerned because a lot of it can be water weight and the weight loss will stabilise.
You do need to figure out what your correct calorie intake should be.
You do need to eat a min 1200 and probably more calories a day for sufficient nutrition.
Get some friends with open diaries.
Start logging your food.
get recipes from the recipes section and ask for the websites they use.0 -

The last time I asked for food advice I was told to google it.
LOL.

Almonds are high in calories. I typically gravitate towards them to fill any of my empty voids for the day.
I'm current 208lbs and started at 263lbs back in January. I am seen by a Dr. bi weekly to help keep me on track and ensure I'm meeting all of my health goals (exercise included)
I've been told that my body needs approximately 1800 Calories a day to lose weight (I get a breathing test done and they calculate my metabolic rate) and in order for me to gain weight I would need to consume more than 2400 calories in a day.
anyway, if you're having a difficult time eating a lot of food, you could try making salads with nuts, chicken and other things that provide protein with a higher calorie count. I like to add avocado to my salads too...
I also use a protein powder (30 grams of protein with 133 calories) and add almond milk to it. It's about 200 calories per shake and very gentle on the stomach. I use magnum Quattro

First of all, this isn't "YOUR" thread, its an open forum. Secondly, because you're personalizing a general saying, YOU are being insulting to people trying to help you. Finally, you may want to eat something, because you are coming across as very hungry.0 -

She'll definitely go far here
As for the hand that feeds you comment. I have never, ever equated this to fat people! Then again, I'm not the paranoid type.
If I'm an A-hole to my boss, I'll be biting the hand that feeds me..

I'm trying to increase my protein and accidentally ended up upping my calories (lol) anyway, one of my favourite meals/snacks that's pretty calorie dense is greek yogurt with frozen fruit and hemp hearts (an awesome protein/fat source). It's not too carb-y, though it does technically contain carbs because all foods do. But it's pretty yummy. I find greek yogurt really filling, so I eat it rather slowly. It's also something that can be made without cooking which is great for these really hot summer days. Best of luck!0

One heck of an extended rant. Good luck on your journey OP.0

I am NOT being insulting to people who are trying to help me. The girl who made the fat joke and one who defended her have YET to give any advice about my diet plan.
QUOTE me otherwise.
With that being said I am going to assume you haven't read the thread all the way through, therefore it would be pointless for me to respond to you until you have done such.

I can't even remember what the question was
But as per usual here on mfp, she would have got many helpful and to the point suggestions. Hopefully OP will take away something useful from this thread.

If I said ... You're as hungry as a horse... Would that have nothing to do with you?
