Hi everyone,

I have been waiting to post my story, trying to decide whether to wait until I am all done, or share a major milestone in the meantime. Recently, I hit the 100 pounds lost mark and I feel great.

Since I was recently asked to answer a few questions about my journey so far, and it's posted on Dr. Sherry Pagoto's website as part of her "Real Biggest Loser" feature, I thought I would share it here. It was an honor to be asked, and it also provides a neat go-to place for anyone who would like to read about my story so far. fudiet.com/2015/08/how-do-you-lose-100-pounds/

By the way, I'm 45, 5' 8", started at 372 pounds, and currently ~272, plus or minus at the moment. Still going strong, slowly but surely! I'm definitely in it for the long haul.

I also have a blog where I chronicle everything, including my avid love of running and all its challenges, and my most recent sporty thing, tennis! amytenpercent.blogspot.com

    My biggest tips are:

Start with small changes that are sustainable.

GO SLOW. This is not a race.

Don't beat yourself up when you're not perfect. There was one month when I only lost a pound. I didn't give up.

Find exercise you like to do.

    DON'T GIVE UP.

I think I like the in progress stories even more than the reached-goal stories. You have a come such a long way and by posting you're showing you're willing to keep going. Good on you!

Thank you thank you all! I can't wait to get the rest of the weight off, too. But it is amazing what a difference there is even now. I just came home from a short vacation that involved a day at the beach and I was in heaven. It was a totally different experience now that I am not so ashamed of my body. It is still far from perfect, but with all the stuff I do now, I feel way more confident and capable. That means more to me than a number on a scale.

I just read your interview! So inspiring!! So many times I get hung up on the number I have left (right now 50-70lbs) and it seems so far away. I lose very slowly. Then I see the 100lb + losses and I stop feeling sorry for myself! Congratulations and continued success!
