Of course exercise isn't counterproductive. Anything that helps, helps.

Yeah. I was just thinking of it from a different point of view when I made this. Like some people have this attitude of "why bother exercising if you're not gonna eat healthily to make the weight drop off quicker" or something along those lines.

I agree though, exercise doesn't just burn calories. It improves your fitness, supercharges your metabolism provided you're giving your body the fuel to do the exercise, and can just generally help you feel better. This is all just from my experience though. I don't have any fancy scientific facts to lay down. XD

When it comes to health, not being physically active is a risk factor for poor results. So is having a diet poor in nutrients, a diet based on n junk food, beign overweight, being a smoker etc. Whatever you can improve, helps. It does not remove the other risk factors, but it is a step in the right direction. By the "why bother" mentality, if you e.g. are overweight, why not also spend all day on the couch, start chain smoking, and become an alcoholic, since you are doomed anyway ... Makes no sense ;)

See? Not much to this! You can eat what you like and still manage your weight. Spread the good word.

I'd also encourage you to start weight lifting or do some sort of bodyweight exercise routine, if you aren't already.

I was doing cardio for the first 3 weeks of me starting to go the gym. Now, I've replaced 2 of my cardio sessions a week with weight lifting sessions to help maintain muscle mass as I lose.
