anything that you think is not worth the calories.

    This ^^

Some I limit to special occasions, some never make the cut.

For me sweets and fried food not really worth it as i cant eat much

but there is nothing you HAVE to avoid. its all just calories. some are just more nutrient dense than others

Put it this way. you don't have to live of chicken and broccoli.

I eat everything and i eat over 30 different meals a week with foods from all over the world

    ITS ALL GOOD!!!

Thanks! I just sometimes have a hard time since I still live at home and have to cook meals that my family will like as well. And they're meat and potatoes kind of people lol.

My fiance is a meat and potatoes guy too. I just add vegetables :)

Reducing baked goods (and increasing protein) really helped me as simple carbs do not fill me up and protein does.

I decided booze was for the most part not worth the calories for me.

I always avoid all food past its expiration date

I don't always do this. If it looks good and smells good I'll usually still eat it.

I pick certain foods over others for health reasons, not weight loss ones. But the healthy stuff makes losing easier because it's generally low-cal, so I can eat lots of it. :)

Getting back to the family thing. I have 2 picky eaters. One VERY picky, one not as bad. So we do kid type meals. For instance tonight is steak and veggie kabobs and roasted potatoes. I usually make an extra veg and eat not as many taters to stick within my own goals. I can do that almost every night. Taco Tuesday? Use turkey meat, and make yourself a taco salad and limit the fatty stuff and chips. Spaghetti meatball night. I make meatballs a little healthier (they have no idea), and I eat mine with spaghetti squash to add in extra veggies. Chicken broccoli ziti, I keep my chicken and broccoli separate. I'm not huge on the grain part of the meal, I'd rather save calories for a cookie :)
