That's the story of my life. As if it wasn't bad enough to have other kids say it, my own grandmother told me that I have a big butt.

If it's true, so what? Make it a big, fit butt.

Who cares what teenagers think? They're full of hormones and mean girls quotes.

Exactly. And their frontal lobes haven't finished developing.

    it's true, they're functionally psychopaths

To be honest, it IS her best friend's daughter... Maybe they have a silly joking type of relationship, and that was not out of the norm for their regular conversations? If that is not how the relationship between the 2 are, I probably would have reprimanded her if my best friend didn't already. Because if that's the case, that is REALLY rude. Or a compliment, who knows?

I personally dislike trash tv so I actually had to look up a picture but apparently my friends daughter told me I have "a Kardashian butt and she's so jealous" maybe that was her problem? Personally I'm fine if I lose my butt if I can keep my big boobs but I've yet to find a "deal with the weight loss devil" thread on this site lol :D

was told today by my best friends 15 yr old daughter I have a big butt :-( need to start trying harder to lose weight I'm about 18lbs from the top end of my goal, need to really focus make small portions and make better food choices!!

I have a 15 year old dd. You should have laughed in her face.
She has a big personality problem if she makes comments like that often.
Weight loss and making nutritious food choices for health is a great goal. Weight loss so 15 year olds might approve of your 34 year old body (they won't) is not so great.

Fat bottom girls, they make the rockin' world go 'round.

Not only is she out of line as an adolescent, but she out of line in the world. A woman's shape is genetic. Look elsewhere for inspiration if you need to, but putting others down because they don't conform to your ideal is...OH! It's adolescent!

I'm not pear shaped, but I have a ridiculous bust and booty compared to the rest of me. If MY kid commented on another's shape, we would have a long and uncomfortable (for her) conversation! Not ok. The parents clue their kid into what's ok to say, so maybe your friend is saying something that the kid picked up on and felt ok to repeat. Maybe the kid's social skills aren't developed.

I'd say something to my friend about it, laugh it off because it's not important the the big scheme, and chalk it up to immaturity.

I know how hurtful comments like this can be - even innocently made, they can still cut deep. Try and remember that this girl is 15 - god I was a nasty piece of work at 15 and 'said' things without thinking! Does this girl know your are on a healthy eating plan? If so, I'd definitely put this comment down to some kind of jealous and bitter teen thing. As hard as it is, please let it go. You're wonderful. And ya know what? A big butt is my GOAL. Keep squatting :)

I had wondered if the 15yo had heard her mother discussing the size of her best friend's butt....

Sadly, most 15 year old girls these days are thinking people like Victoria Beckhams' body is the ideal.
So most of us on here would probably have a big butt too (according to them).
    I wouldn't worry about it!

Some people like big butts. Let it roll off. You're fine.

Also that's highly inappropriate of anyone to say but 15 year olds have nothing in the way of mouth filters.

I had a music teacher in gradeschool that had a shelf butt. Yep, one of those butts you could set a glass of water on. I never said anything to her about it. I did, however, feel bad for her. But she ended up getting a nasty stomach problem. I forget what it was . .it meant she could only eat salads. She did lose weight after that . . . but man . . . her diet was so restrictive.
