Hello everyone. I have never failed at dieting because I have just let my weight creep up and stay here. Now my knees are starting to ache, and I know I need to get this weight off. Anyone want to join me?

Happy to...in fact just did.
I'm trying to lose 20 lbs too and this is my first time 1) on a site like this & 2) on a calorie controlled diet. That said I suspect the addition of exercise and a better understanding of what I'm eating is what will really lead to any success.
I'm any event, welcome & good luck.0 -
Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Need to lose 35 lbs and I'm in my 50's. Good luck to us all. I'm ready to work!0

Well, I'm 61! I've been using MFP since late May/early June and it has really helped, as Andrea said, "...better understanding of what I'm eating...", PLUS realizing I was eating more empty calories than I should have been.
I've gone from north of 180 down to 160. Soooo...
YOU GOT THIS, KIDDO!!!

Peggy,
Thank you for the encouragement, and congratulations on your success.
