Hello everyone. I have never failed at dieting because I have just let my weight creep up and stay here. Now my knees are starting to ache, and I know I need to get this weight off. Anyone want to join me?

  • I wish you strength I just turned 60 and have been on many "diets" throughout my life. It's very hard this time around. I also have 50 lbs to lose.

    Happy to...in fact just did.

I'm trying to lose 20 lbs too and this is my first time 1) on a site like this & 2) on a calorie controlled diet. That said I suspect the addition of exercise and a better understanding of what I'm eating is what will really lead to any success.

I'm any event, welcome & good luck.

Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Need to lose 35 lbs and I'm in my 50's. Good luck to us all. I'm ready to work!

Yep. In my case 'a better understanding of what I am eating' simply meant cut out junk food

I thought I was the oldest person here; now I see I have to share the laurels.

Welcome to the 56 club
And all the best with your diet!

Well, I'm 61! I've been using MFP since late May/early June and it has really helped, as Andrea said, "...better understanding of what I'm eating...", PLUS realizing I was eating more empty calories than I should have been.

I've gone from north of 180 down to 160. Soooo...

    YOU GOT THIS, KIDDO!!!

To quote: "Good luck to us all"!!
