Hello everyone, I'm just starting the keto lifestyle and would appreciate all the support I can receive through friendships. Thanks

Hello, I started 3 weeks ago. How is it going for you?

@SHORES1974 I have been on the Ketogenic lifestyle since Oct 2014. It started out for pain management yet it is doing so much for my health than I knew possible. At my age of 63 at that time I was not able to taper off carbs so just left sugar and all grains cold turkey Oct 2014. The first two weeks the cravings were hellish then just faded to Zero in my case and still have not returned. The big reason I stick with it in just 30 days my pain dropped from 7-8 to 2-3. That enabled to say no to Enbrel when the doctors planned to start me on the Enbrel injections for pain management.

Welcome to MFP forums to you and @moonlightlu.

The below MFP group has a list of resources at the top of their sub forum you may want to read that is good to help one get through the first few weeks of adaptation. Some have open diaries and are good at answering personal questions. Very low carb is not for the masses but after all of this time I personally can not see doing any other Way Of Eating because how it is reversion 40 years of health issues. I keep my carbs <50 grams daily. I needed to lose some weight so that was a positive side effect in my case.
