Im not a doctor or a nutritionist so I can't speak about superfoods or metabolism boosters specifically but its clear that an apple and a few nuts are going to be a better calorie source with way more nutrients for your body to thrive on than the same amount of calories in 3 french fries or a candy.
Happy snacking friend!
The bolded part of the post - Nope, doesn't work that way.0 -
@juliebowling1 Do you have anything to contribute to the discussion about metabolism? Do have any advice to offer the OP on how to increase one's resting metabolic rate? The people you are busy insulting can answer "yes" to those two simple questions. So far, you can't honestly do the same.
The simple truth is that there are no magic foods that boost a metabolism in any meaningful way. Lean mass does burn more calories, but it is a single digit burn per pound of added muscle ... a time consuming and arduous process, especially for women.0 -

Yes, building actual new muscle is a time consuming and arduous process. The lower levels of testosterone make it even more difficult for women.0 -

Whoa, what?
Generally speaking, it's more difficult for women to add muscle than men, as they lack the abundance of testosterone.
That's not to say there aren't exceptions on both sides - but they ARE exceptions...not the rule.0 -
All i mean by the bolded is that you need food to live. If you are starving yourself you will lose weight, yes, of course, but you may also die of starvation. If not that severe than at least be exhausted all the time and dizzy and lacking essential nutrients for a healthy body. You have to eat. Every living thing on this planet needs fuel to survive and so eating way too few calories a day is a deficit and you'll lose weight but you'll also be very sick. Hit your targets (dont go over or too far under) with healthy stuff, like your lovely apple and tasty nuts, and be safe in your weight loss.0 -
Alright didn't realise there was such a response to my comment here.
First off i want to make it clear that the version of the word 'troll' i used was to describe someone who causes trouble on the internet. I was not calling you a troll as in a creature living under a bridge.
I'm sorry i didn't take your post seriously, it's just that silly metabolism posts are always on the forums, it just didn't seem that your post was real as I'd never heard of foods increasing metabolism. It just seemed far fetched and there are trolls on these forums.
I'll choose my words better next time (or to be frank i probably won't say anything) but i think you should too. Saying someone is a waste of space is a horrible thing to say. You're basically saying the world would be a better place without them. That is NEVER okay. As someone who has dealt with depression i find it very offensive.
Anyway, again I'm sorry i didn't take your post seriously and had a sarcastic response. But if you're going to get easily offended might be better to stay off the internet0
