This one was inspred by 'TODAY IN MUSIC HISTORY'

    Okay,...let's mash em up

    1. Whisky request from this Laker Girl and Justice
    2. The address of this famous Piano player and Starter of Fires girlfriend
    3. "Hey lady, Rob & Fab wouldn't lie"

    M. Answer the Songs and artist(s) then combine the songs (in order) to complete the Mashup

    Some guesses.

    1. Straight Up - Paula Abdul
    2. 52nd Street - Billy Joel
    3. Where Do We Go From Here? - Rob & Fab (Honestly never heard of these guys before)

Straight up 52nd street, where do we go from here? Times Square maybe.
  • 1. Straight Up - Paula Abdul
    2. Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
    3. Girl You Know it's True - Milli Vanilli

    3. Girl You Know it's True - Milli Vanilli

Straight Uptown Girl You Know It's True

btw, it's in the day that Milli Vanili won (and would later be stripped of) a Grammy Award
  • Thematic Equation (cubed) Game -
    1. I provide: 3 artists and/or groups
    2. You provide: The song for each artist/group that are connected by a theme. FYI - I listed them in chronological order.
    #ThinkOutsideTheRhombus
    #GoodLuckAndNoWagering

    1. Eddie Cochran
    2. Mungo Jerry
    3. Jane's Addiction

You are correct on the 1st song and the theme of "Summertime"...
    I'll wait a bit more before I reveal #2 and #3

I had to do some research. I didn't know that was Eddie Cochran (duh) and am clueless on Jane's Addiction
    1. Eddie Cochran -- Summertime Blues
    2. Mungo Jerry -- In The Summertime
    3. Jane's Addiction -- Summertime Rolls

If someone else had them without research you can take it away.

I first saw Jane's Addiction as headliners for The Rolling Stones in '89.
They do a wicked cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" and they also had bit parts in the movie "Point Break".
    You're welcome :D

An easy one to start the weekend.

Number one on the Top Ten at Noon on 105.7 KOKZ from 1971.

    Sunrise + knock * 3 = [band/song]

Correct. It's hard to believe that was way back in 1971. I would have guessed at least 1975.

The great days of AM radio.

Not native + 32 degrees (and lower) = artist / song

    Different, but Same:
    Two Artists , One Song:

Name the two artists labeled in 1. and 2.
then name different song, of the same name, that each recorded

    1. Bradys' Butcher + Chef
    2. Sun King + Powerful Bicep
    3. "Huh? One Fantastic Orb."

Sam Cooke & Louis Armstrong -- What A Wonderful World

I heard something, but I'm not sure where, saying Armstrong's name was pronounced Lew-Iss and not Lew-ee. I didn't know that.

Paul Simon/Take Me To The Mardi Gras?

    Correct. Happy Mardi Gras everyone!
  • 3-way Mash-up (see spoiler for definition). I'll provide the 3 artists (in order) and you have to provide the 3 connecting songs. Good luck and no wagering...
    Definition:
    Mashup: MA` sh * up: (n)
The would-be song if two artists mashed their titles together
    Example:
Artist: George Gerswin and the Elvis =
Song: I can't give you anything but LOVE Me tender

    1. The Beatles
    2. Minnie Ripperton
    3. Joe Cocker

    deckerp Posts: 4,484 Member
I had to look at my Beatles collection to find their song, believe it or not. I suppose the other two artists were less prolific.
