    Thanks, @Mustang_Susie .
I didn't grow up on Aerosmith, so RunDMC's cover was a personal and cultural revelation

I have a brother whose 10 years older than me and I still remember listening to his "Toys In The Attic" 8 track :#

This month's alcoholic beverage / What the sheriff says to the bad guys = band / song

Might be a little obscure, so a little hint. They're Canadian.

April Wine -- Just Between You And Me

Because that's the only song I can come up with off the top of my head. And it's a good one.

    Right band, wrong song.

Additional hint. The sheriff might say ____ ____ ____ & put your hands up.

Yeah, I found it, and then hunted it down on YouTube. Cool song, and I'm fairly sure I've never heard it before, in spite of my love of Charles  and belief that he is the King of Rock and Roll.
