Second half of the 70's band with at least one good album. A mix of softer and harder sounds on it too. The bigger hits were the softer songs.

Drink of the Greek gods + some MFP members would say their butt = [band/song]

I was thinking Triumph for the band. Maybe Lay It On The Line for a song. I had to research that.

Nobody wants this one? Jackson Browne wrote it. It's on The Very Best Of Jackson Browne. The Eagles had a bigger hit with the song than Browne did. Released in 1972.

Total guess based on the clues:
    Andrew Gold/Lonely Boy?

I've heard Paul Anka's version but I don't think this is it...

The above song intro reminds me of "Believe it or Not" by Joey Scarbury...
    Anyway, here's the next one:

    Sunday-Saturday/Friendly plant

Google-cheated the song, figured out the artist more easily from your clues:
    Everyday/ Buddy Holly

    And James Taylor too.

I got weekend, or all week, or week something stuck in my head and got no further.
