Elton John has a song called PINKY.
Had not heard of that one. I did listen to a bit of it and it sounds like a good album track.

Here is a lesser-known artist and not a huge hit.

Dean Friedman + The Little Mermaid = [song]

I recognized his name, right away. You reminded me of the song a couple of years ago. I have it on one of my ‘70s collections. Good tune.

    Ariel

    Muskrat Love

The Captain & Tennille played "The Way I Want To Touch You" and "Muskrat Love" for Gerald Ford in 1976 for the Bicentennial. Queen Elizabeth fell asleep during "Muskrat Love".

Looking for the addends that equal the sum:

    Rush + Zager & Evens = 4637

    deckerp Posts: 4,651 Member
    2112 + 2525 = 4637

I didn't know the Rush one, but it was just math I guess.

    Billy Joel = Captain Jack
    Elton John = Captain Fantasic
Blues Image = Ride Captain Ride
Jimmy Buffett = Captain America / The Captain and the Kid
    Grand Funk = ?

Hall & Oates = Private Eyes
    Beatles = ?

Bonus-Songs with military rank in the lyrics:

    David Bowie = Major Tom
Paul McCartney and Wings = Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey

Billy Joel, Elton John, Blues Image, Jimmy Buffet (Capt. & The Kid), Hall & Oates are correct.
David Bowie's Major Tom is correct, from the songs "Space Oddity" and "Ashes To Ashes".
For McCartney and Wings I was thinking of the line "was your father as bold as a Sergeant Major?" from the song "Jet". But "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey" is a good answer, too.

    Still looking for:
    Grand Funk =
    Beatles =

You know Grand Funk will be "captain" because of the grouping. Maybe a little Googling.
I thought the Beatles was the most obvious. "Think, think, think" says Pooh Bear.

Grand Funk = Closer To Home (I'm Your Captain)
Beatles = Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I had forgotten about the Grand Funk song. I looked through their discography on wikipedia and it didn't jump out at me, but I remember it. It was listed at the bottom of the page with a link to a page for just that song. Odd that it wasn't listed among the singles anywhere on the page. Maybe because they list it as being done by Grand Funk Railroad and I was looking at Grand Funk? Not sure there is a difference.

I was less of a fan of later Beatles, so it didn't occur to me. Duh, my bad.
