Wild Rose herbal detox. It comes with pills and drops, the drops taste nasty, it's a 12 day program and it comes with a list of thing you can eat. I lost 10 pounds with it even though I wasn't using it for weight loss, I gained it back.

I'm glad the OP decided not to use a detox. Really, it's a waste of money and 100% not necessary.

Thanks guys I won't use it, I will let my body do its normal job I guess its just the change. :/
    Smart decision.

Yeah, those hormones fluctuating can make you feel all bloated and crummy. As many have said, make sure you are getting enough fluids and perhaps cut your sodium down a little and let your body do its job.

Remember, there is an end. Yay for menopause! I am five years post menopausal and feel better than I had for a long time, and some of it is because I don't have to deal with the hormone cycles.

So true! I'm done with menopause now, but I remember peri-menopause very well. It can make you feel bloated and just downright horrible.

@hi135 I think she's been scarred away from any sort of cleanse.

What benefits did you get from your detox? Would you do it again?

She wasn't scared away, she was smart enough to realize there was no point in doing it. She also has a functioning liver and kidneys.

I would agree that, by the OP's latter response, she made a smart and informed decision. :)

I am so glad @Jboo7825 made the decision to not do any cleansing/detox other than relying on her own body to do the job....the suggestions of making sure you are up with your water, fibre, fats etc are really supportive and helpful without the awful and possibly dangerous side effects of cleanses.

Whilst I know my experience came from a medical cleanse using Pico Prep for a colonoscopy.....2 weeks post procedure I have now developed severe gastritis from the harsh properties of this 'cleanse'.....I am in SO much pain and discomfort and the whole ordeal has upset my 'tract' from mouth to you know where.

For anyone wanting to take these teas may want to consider that you could be setting yourself up for problems far beyond the actual time that you take the detox/cleanse for.....it upset the natural balance of flora in your gut and I would hate to think that anyone else would willingly put themselves through what I am currently suffering.

as others have said, cleanses are scams

Yes, for long term success, learn to eat at a deficit and lose weight in a healthy way, you can do this, OP!

HippySkoppy, if you are having diarrhea as a result of flora imbalance, and see any mucous in the stool, go to the dr asap!!

Excellent point! I am sorry you are having these problems. I hope the new meds help. I have had only one colonoscopy so far and, while the procedure was uncomfortable, the cleanse was much, much worse. I had no aftereffects though other than irregular bowels for a week, which is typical.

Someday....someone is going to actually answer what toxins they think they are detoxing from. If the product isn't telling you that....then it should make one pause and think.

I actually got a specific answer from a friend's daughter who is really into juicing. She didn't like my counter points regarding why each item was either not a toxin, was automatically eliminated by liver and kidneys, or needed special medical intervention in order to be removed (the heavy metals she mentioned)

I am against anything that removes heavy metal. It's your one-way ticket to midnight.

I don't think her changing her mind is a bad thing
A detox is not required. You find as you drink more water and change habits you don't feel as bloated

Talk about confusing, the Tetrasodium EDTA I add to my hair products gets rid of heavy metals AND makes my hair better looking.

I am a bit scared for my friend's daughter, but there is a point where they will not listen so I dropped it. She is in her late 30's now and is in the age where harmful things you do to your body will start to catch up to you. Her juicing is very possibly going to contribute to osteoporosis because of the lack of calcium and other micro nutrients helpful for bone health, and the lack of fiber is known to raise the risk factor for colon cancer.

Doing a juicing VLCD once really isn't going to harm you. She does it 2-3 times a year for 30 days each time.

What benefit does she think she is getting from juicing? Just curious. Seems downright ludicrous!!

If I thought there was any tiny chance it would do me any good, I'd do it. But I don't believe that.

Be careful with cleanses. Some are just fun, silly ways for people to "kick-start" their diets and the worst thing that can happen is some diarrhea and a lack of some vitamins and minerals for a day or two. Other cleanses are seriously unhealthy. I read one online that if the person didn't vomit up the salt it instructed them to drink...the person would die. A healthy body would almost always vomit it up, but the thing even had what it considered to be a way around the vomit. That person was TRYING to kill people via a cleanse.

Be very careful. Juice for a day or two - no big whup. But never take anything - no pills, no powders, no liquids, no ridiculous amounts of salt, nothing! - unless you're sure it's okay. Run any cleanse by a doctor before you do it.

Cleansing, detoxing, resetting her body, weight loss, getting more energy, and some more woo I can't remember.

Once again those recommending a detox or cleanse cannot name a single thing they allegedly remove from the body. We have a recommendation of a laxative tea and some combination of drops/pills/restrictive diet. Thankfully the OP realized the foolishness of a cleanse before wasting her money.

Exactly. I'm glad there are many people on here with common sense.
