Detox

I am detoxing for 21 days. I am so tired of being sick and tired. So I am going to eat 12 bananas a day and work out twice a week. I know people might think thtis is extreme, but I would rather do that then eat my usual four thousands calories a day. I need to reset my system. Please pray I can achieve my goals. After the 21 days I will start the 21 day fix. Have a God blessed day, peace and health to you and your family .

Hi - Welcome
First of all, this is an absolutely unnecessary diet to be doing - not to mention totally unsustainable. It really isn't about 'what' you eat - it's about 'how much'. Your 12 bananas a day will average at about 1200 calories - You could just as well be eating 1200 worth of decent fulfilling foods. On top of that, your 12 bananas a day will not detox you whatsoever - your body naturally detoxes itself. In the nicest way possible, you need to re-educate yourself on the weight loss process. None of what you are doing will 'reset your system' so to speak, in fact, there really is no such thing.
Enter your details in to MFP and it'll tell you exactly how many calories you should be consuming per day. Eat whatever you like and stick to that number - you'll lose weight. This '12 bananas a day' is complete nonsense and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Nonsense.
Wish you the best of luck in getting to your goal but I fear until you start doing this correctly, your goal is a long time coming. The last thing I want to be is harsh but I really feel you are setting yourself up for failure if you follow through with a Banana only diet - what human being do you know of that does this long-term? It's not good.0 -
Is this a joke? There's gotta be a joke somewhere in here.0

Instead of 1200 cals of just banana , why not try a variety of foods that will meet your nutrient goals ?
Its not about what you eat for weight loss, its about calories.here's a quick breakdown
For weight loss- calorie deficit
For weight gain- calorie surplus
So as long as you eat at a deficit you'll lose weight. It would be absolutely miserable to just eat bananas . but it can be tolerable if you eat regular foods, just in smaller portions.
It will also be very hard to meet your macros while just consuming bananas. But it can be done eating a variety of regular foods while using portion control and moderation.

Oh, the OP once challenged people to eat oatmeal for breakfast every day for a year. How will that fit with the 12 bananas? I hope she listens to reason here and gets some education about nutrition.

I'm all in favor of eating right. I'm all in favor of jump starting eating right with a 2-3 week extra focused time. That said, how does 12 bananas (sugar) fit into that?0

I don't know what the OP is going to detox, so if it's juicing, I provided links.
I've heard people use detoxing, juicing, cleansing interchangeably.

I'm pretty sure the OP said she is going to detox by eating 12 bananas today.
OP, you really can do this without any extreme diets. Have you tried just using a food scale and eating in a deficit? Are you having any issues that are making you think you need to detox?0 -
Possibly one of the more ridiculous things I've read here and I love bananas. Eating 12 a day for just 1 day, I'd never eat another banana again. Is this method supposed to give you the nasty squirts? Do you think getting the runs is a detox? How the heck did you come up with this?0

Eating 12 bananas a day would leave me so constipated it wouldn't be funny!0 -

Oh my gosh...you are so funny. Thanks for the laugh.
PS I am at work and this so helped me get through the next hour.

I was also wondering what one would be detoxing from. I know normal kidneys and liver remove excess waste so I'm unsure as to what one would be detoxifying from ?0

But seriously OP, why just bananas? They're not magical. Why not just eat at a calorie deficit? If you're tired of being "sick and tired" depriving yourself of a balanced diet is unlikely to help.0

Sounds like someone watched Freelee the bananagirl on Youtube. From what I gather, she eats bananas all day and thinks a woman's menses is actually toxins leaving her body. It's scary what people will believe, knowhatimean?0 -
OP you mentioned eating 4000 cals/day normally. Was that an actual number or an exaggeration? Because if you are eating that amount, or even half that, you should be able to lose weight fairly simply by cutting a reasonable amount of calories from your daily consumption and eat a variety of foods in the process while still losing weight. No all banana diet or 21 day fix necessary...0

That thought had occurred to me but I didn't want to mention her. I refuse to send Internet traffic towards crazy!0 -
