gallon of water weighs 8.3lbs. do you think the girl lost half a gallon of water

Get real people. She's been working hard. Ease up. GOSH. Get it girl

    And 5 pounds a week is a 2500 calorie a day deficit
    (3500 × 5 days = 17,500 per week ÷ 7 days = 2500 calories per day).

    Good lucking keeping that up.

And the average person is 70% water, which at 210 pounds, means she's got 17.7 gallons of just water sitting inside her. We also regularly move 9.5 lbs of water out of the body each day (typically replaced by incoming water and glycolosis). Is it that odd to say in 5 days a person could move half a gallon?
    Is that real enough?

Ugh people are so boring and discouraging with this "water weight" talk. ANYWAYS OP I was exactly that weight 2 months ago starting off and I'm your height and I'm now in the 160s so it can be done. Just keep at it :)

Oh really? How is that exactly. Giving false hope is exciting then.

It's just annoying when people are bursting your bubble, I don't see why 10 ppl need to come and say the same thing. We get it "water weight".

@thebrandnewdiva So you agree that it's water weight?

I have been eating clean since July 9,2015. I started at 178 with a height of 5'3. I am now down to 163 at the end of September plus many inches. I always make sure I try different clean eating recipes through Pinterest so I won't get bored and also precook meals to grab.

clean eating has nothing to do with it. You could of eaten "dirty" (whatever that is), maintained a deficit, and you would of lost the same amount of weight.

Because letting her know that it being water weight is what makes it safe, but that losing that amount in fat would usually be unhealthy? You've been shown to wrong and now you're trying to move the goal posts.

She asked if it was safe. People are saying yes it is, it's water weight. What is negative about that?

In my experience I dropped 4 pounds the first week, then it slowed down to about a pound a week. It's normal.

Can you explain what is so negative about the posts here?

We have reached the point in MFP where everyone was nice and truthful and there are people outraged over it.

No quote, so I'm not sure which of my posts you're referring to.

Yes, OP's loss is most likely water. The VLCD was in reference to other posts by other posters, not in reference to the OP.
