    I used to offer unsolicited advice to friends/family when I thought they were making poor food choices while dieting. One day I realized that in doing that I was Inadvertently dismissing all the positive changes they were making and focusing on what I perceived as negative. I finally stopped when one friend was openly offended, when I meant no offense, and thought about it. I was doing it trying to be helpful, and didn't realize how frustrating and possibly belittling it was to them. That said, if I know if they are doing or taking something dangerous I will speak up, otherwise, I just listen and try to be supportive.
