I'm currently just walking and doing a little jogging, but I'm interested in expanding into some upper body work outs.

Does anyone has Planet Fitness? Do you like it? What kind of machines do then have?

I don't know if it's been said but planet fitness is a joke. Any gym that offers members pizza and has a hulk alarm is a gym to stay away from imo

I met with a planet fitness trainer today. So glad I did. Feel like I have a plan now and will help me lose more after bariatric surgery.

Although I think the pizza and tootsie rolls are rediculous, PF is a good fit for some people. It may not be for everyone, but people who are intimidated by the gym or new to exercise, may see it as a good fit. I went to PF a few years back and it serves my needs at that time. I eventually had to move on to a gym that offered more, but I won't bash people who go to it. Like I said, it works for some people.

It must depend on the owner on what is allowed. We belong to one. Many folks where tank tops and you hear weights drop often and the alarm never goes off.

You can sign up with their PT to learn how to use the weights, both machine and free weights and get a routine/plan written up.
