Maybe try googling 'what should I do if I ate raw chicken'? I'd be worried about food poisoning.
i googled the absolute *kitten* out of that and nobody has a sure answer. apparently the general consensus is you have a higher chance of salmonella, but a lower chance of worms. i dont like chances for any of that stuff, and i have a kidney disease so i dont think i can go around taking these weird medicines from CVS people are suggesting either. i always need a doctors approval for things, but they dont just GIVE you tapeworm remover

Once again, you don't get tapeworms from chicken. It was already said above.

well one person said that and then like 6 people said it might so thats why i am still worried

To be clear, I have no idea whether it's possible or not, and I don't think some of the others know either. The science and health-knowledgeable-sounding people who say it's not happening sound credible enough to me.

I do know with reasonable certainty that you're not going to die from tapeworms tonight. If you get salmonella, you'll probably puke out the badness. Either way, you can see a doctor tomorrow, right?

I love salmonella in the morning. Seriously. That's your biggest risk. If you're not sick tomorrow you're likely going to live.

no! I cannot! i am a college student and i have class all day tomorrow. it is strict *kitten*. im not exaggerating. 6 am till 10:45 pm. and i cant miss a day of school since it is once a week! plus, like i mentioned, i dont have a doctor in these parts, i am very away from home

Well, when you puke all over the classroom they'll let you go then I'm sure.

    1) You are probably fine
    2) If you're not fine, you can see a doctor. There are no doubt doctors where you're located, and someone at your school in Student Services or whatever can help you find one to see.
    3) If you have to miss class to see a doctor, get a note from the doctor, if your prof is taking attendance; email your prof to tell her/him what's happening later; and get lecture notes from other classmates.

I have and I think it gave me a stomachache, a mild one at that. And the tummyache was probably psychosomatic.

You should call your student clinic. There should be an overnight nurse on call who can help you out.

    1) relax
    2) in the morning buy some Combantrin (or whatever tapeworm meds you have in the US of A.
    3) I've had tapeworms as well as 50,000 other intestinal worms in my life generally from drinking contaminated water and swimming in rivers where people's poops might be mingling around and walking around barefoot in cow dung in the country and what have you. They're very easily treated. Pop a couple of pills and hey presto.

    This is true LOL.

It will take more than a few hours for that to happen though - you will have to be crawling with worms before itchy but kicks in.

Another symptom is drooling a lot in your sleep

And eating like a ravenous beast but not feeling full

And all of the above take more than a few hours to kick in - like we're talking a good week or more until the worms procreate and grow inside you.

Maybe that commitment over freaking out about raw chicken isn't such a bad idea... because you're being more dramatic than my pre-teen at this point. This is going beyond obsessed and into crazypants territory. I find it hard to believe that someone with a serious medical history would be in a situation where they cannot seek medical attention when needed.

I'm going to go with knock off the Doctor Google crap.

yeah not while im at school on a campus...that would be at home. im really panicking and you're likely getting some kind of thrill out of being a jerk about this arent you

I'm not being a jerk...I'm trying to remind you that you have options and you should really seek treatment. Call this team that supports you, even if its far away because they at least know your medical history - we don't. They can help you with the panic, which we clearly can't because I've been trying. Good luck.

Strike what I said. Please seek medical attention for yourself, and I'm not talking about the chicken.

Seriously. STFU and go to a doctor if you're *THAT* worried about this. I don't even care what excuses you have to throw at us, seek medical attention if you feel that you are having a medical emergency because the internet is not the place to be seeking assurances that you are fine (since you're not going to listen anyhow).

i see now why everyone leaves MyFitnessPal or just uses it for the calculator. None of you people even go back to look at the answers i'd already given, or you make assumptions based off half assed questions from way long ago (which i dont understand why you;re lookin at, why does having an eating disorder team in the midwest affect my life at college on the West Coast...) You literally just told me to "shut the *kitten* up" being malicious because i am obsessively freaking out about something? did i physically hurt you somehow? or do you just like telling ppl to shut the *kitten* up behind your little computer screen? i hope one day when you panic over something, someone belittles your genuine fears

This is the last time I will be replying. Please seek professional help.

I don't know a single university that uses fresh chicken, and freezing meat kills tapeworms. Breathe.

OP, I'm not really a science person, but this is pretty logical, right? How is a tapeworm going to survive freezing? (Unless your school has fancy fresh chicken. Which is only a little less likely than you getting tapeworms, by the sounds of things.)

    You are probably ok, really.

This actually happened to my son. He ordered fried chicken breast at a restaurant and was eating with his friends while playing their handheld video games. They where paying more attention to the games and didn't look at the foods.
The chicken was raw and pink still. He didn't get any tapeworm at all. Just a belly ache . he was fine within a few days. I shoved the pink chicken in the owners face and told her she should've checked the food before serving it ( the owner was also the cook)
You should be fine. Make yourself a cup of tea and take a warm bath ( maybe that will help you fall asleep rather then staying up worrying)
I would definitely try to rest. Worrying won't change this situation any so its pointless to keep obsessing about .
I know this is easier said then done, but stop googling about tapeworm tonight and try to sleep

Honey - you're getting hysterical. I get that you're phobic, but you're searching for an answer that doesn't exist. You need to calm down. The chances of you getting worms from that is minscule at best. But if you're that worried you need to see a doctor. There is NO third option. No one is going to pop in with a miracle remedy and you've got the whole range of suggestions you could possibly get here.

    Breathe. Calm.

I don't believe poultry can infect humans with tapeworms.

Tapeworms always have two hosts - one that their young live in, and one the adults live in. It's eating animals infected with the young that can lead to intestinal parasites (the adult form of the parasite) in humans. I believe the chicken tapeworm only infects chickens as their adult host, not their larval one, so their muscles wouldn't carry tapeworm larva (those are expelled in the feces).

On the other hand, salmonella and campylobacter are much more likely.
i don't even care if its salmonella so long as i dont have worms so thank you

Because salmonella is totally a breeze. WTF is this thread I don't even

Yup. I think I'd take the tapeworm, actually.
