One that includes food you like, helps you feel full and keeps you within calories limit.
There is no right eating plan for every single person, we are all different.

    Try

Most people don't get enough fruits or vegetables so you can start there. If you log all your food and keep to your calorie target you will lose weight. I suggest targeting improving one meal at a time, like a better breakfast.

Are you feeling like you need a plan to guide you? If so, choose one that focuses on whole foods: vegetables, nuts and seeds, if you eat grains, focus on whole grains, fruits etc.

You don't have to be a good cook. You don't have to do anything fancy. But if you need a formal plan to guide you at the outside, choose a good one. Something like South Beach (starting with either phase one or phase two would be fine. But read up on whatever plan you choose. Again, assuming you choose one.

Fruits and veggies! Lots of vitamins and minerals you need, plus fiber you can use. Fiber hangs out the longest on the stomach, so it helps many people feel full fora longer time.

In addition to fruits and veggies, go for lean, white meats and whole grains.

    Check these out:

    Lots of great info there!

A lot of people try to add good things to their diets. Like, add a few glasses of water a day. Then, later, add couple servings of veggies. It's easier to add little bits at a time than it is to try to change everything overnight. It's more fun to look at it as if you're giving yourself something (Extra veggies! Go me!) than it is to be all down because you've cut something out.

Slow, but steady, positive and healthy changes. Add, add, add. Eventually, you'll have added so many healthy things that there just isn't much room (or hunger!) left for junk. :)

What are you having a problem with?

Eat in a way you can for the rest of your life. You don't have to completely overhaul your diet just to lose weight. Just start eating appropriate portion sizes for your calorie goal.
Basically, stick to your calorie goal and you will lose weight. Get enough protein. Eat several servings of vegetables and fruits daily. Try some whole grains.

I look at calories first then protein, fiber, and sodium. The rest of my MFP goals kind of fall in place if I am looking at those numbers.
I find it helpful to pair a smaller portion of a higher calorie item with a larger portion of something lower calorie like vegetables.
Pre-logging my whole day of food in my food diary is another thing that helps me.

Eat fewer calories than you burn. Done! I think the easiest way for me is to just incorporate a lot of vegetables so I don't feel hungry.
