Im a 6,3 guy at 318 pounds. I used to be a size 32 in my highschool graduation. After crazy eating habbits and lots of booze, I went from that 32 to a 48size. Holding that size for a few years one day a 48 size pants was too tight so I decided to loose weight. At 350 pounds I started a carbs free diet and walking, I lost over 100 pounds in less than a year. After i was happy with my weight i started with my bad eating habbits again. After 8 years ive gain most of that being to a size 44 and 42 in pants. Ive started a diet again this time with T25 ive lost 8 pounds in two weeks. Lets see how much i can manage to take down and how i can keep it down this time. My goal 270 before the year ends! Yeah some people say thats too much... but ive done it, and i can do this again! Wish me luck! and any tips are welcome...

@vitalepr you do a good job on driving home the point how losing weight is very doable but keeping it off can be the hardest point.

With failing health a year ago I cut carbs to under <50 grams daily to manage my pain without Rx meds. It worked in only 30 days and still is working a year later. Losing most of my pain after having it for 40 years should help me to manage my weight so there is no more yo yoing of weight.

Eating high fat and at 3000 calories daily to maintain means I am stuffed most of the time with no cravings like when I was in serious pain and fat from living mainly on carbs. I know some can manage weight eating high carb but this old man was fading fast trying to live on carbs.

    Best of success.

    "Bad eating habits".........

This is the problem with eating one way for weight loss and eating a different way for maintenance. Been there, done that.

This time, I refuse to cut out anything during weight loss that I am not willing to give up forever......no medical issues for (thankfully).

Does any one believe sugar is good for you. I am often surprised that people over look the simple facts about the human body. How much sugar does you body try to maintain what is a normal level? What does it do with all the rest?

I won't pretend to act like I know the answer for you or any one else but I will share something that I learned. Our bodies can live with out any added sugar. It's not about cutting out any thing it's about eliminating something your body doesn't need.

How does our bodies store fat? What is the mechanics of that system? Understanding what is causing the problem is usually the fastest way to the cure. Every body has a different tolerance to sugar but at some point it is bad for most of us. I don't know any one that can live off a high sugar (carb) diet but history is riddled with societies that lived of of protein and fat.

Good luck. I Hope you find the answers to the questions.

Your nutrition plan needs to be a plan for the rest of your life. A plan that you can continue with for the next 10/20/30+ years. That is the only way you can achieve sustainable results.

There are no good or bad foods, unless you have a specific metabolic syndrome. If you are over eatting 500 calories a day, you will gain weight, regardless if it is refined sugar or spinach. Same goes for under eating and losing weight.
