Losing weight with no exercise and I need help

    Is there any chance of your Dr referring you to someone who can determine your BMR?

    Exercise is not required for weight loss provided you are in a calorie deficit. My first question, rather than asking what sort of exercise you can do is are you being 100% accurate with your logging? I will try and find a link to the post you really need to read on here for that. But logging accurately means, weighing all solids (don't use cups etc for solids) and measuring all liquids that go into your mouth. Choosing an accurate entry from the food database (there are a large amount of very inaccurate ones out there) and even check weigh pre-packaged foods because they often weigh more than it says on the packet (less likely that someone will try and sue them that way). That should be your first step and once you have the logging as close to 100% as you can get then maybe start to look at other things

    Ok thanks I'm gonna see how it goes over the next couple of month, maybe it will work now my thyroid is sorted.

    Hi Chris, she had previously mentioned she has electronic scales and weighs everything I think....if I remember rightly

    Missed that one while I was typing (should learn to type faster) however there are still a huge amount of entries in the database with the calories set way too low. I missed the Thyroid bit as well until I posted which would make a huge difference to advice given as well

    Yea I even logged today after I signed up knowing id go over, I'm very accurate with my weighing and logging once I get back on here. Only thing I never quite understood was macros? lol
    I check the packaging of what I'm using with the stuff thats already logged on mfp to make sure thats accurate too.

    Given your current stats and providing that your thyroid is working correctly now there should be absolutely no reason why you shouldn't lose on 1200 calories. Unless there is something else affecting you such as medication etc. Now you are logging again stick with it for a few weeks and see how you go.

    yup im on some medication..i rattle when i walk and some do make you gain weight , if i give in to them when they give me the munchies :( Another reason why Im logging again, to keep a check on myself.
    Finger crossed then it starts working again for me.

    Have you ever calculated your BMR, basal metabolic rate? It's the number of calories your body burns just to maintain your lean body mass. I recommend checking out fat2fitradio.com and entering your info to determine your BMR. You could be eating too little. For example, I'm 5'1" and weigh 139. My BMR is 1,400, so technically I need to eat around 100 to 200 calories above that if I were sedentary and even more if I live an active lifestyle. I typically eat around 1,700 calories a day and am losing weight.

    hi my scale give me my BMR, thats why I tried 1700cals a day and just piled on the pounds so dropped back down.
