MFP 5 week weight prediction

So I went over my calories by about 150 todayand when I completed the diary, MFP projected that I would gain ~0.3 pounds (from 113.4-113.7) in 5 weeks if I continued to eat that amount of calories on a daily basis. I know this isn't much of a gain, but it's just a bit concerning since my calorie goal today was 1450 so going over 100-150cals means I'd be eating only about 1600, which seems like far too little to gain any weight on (even the measly 0.3lbs). And just FYI, I don't log my exercise (but even so, 1600 still seems like very few calories to be over maintenance).
So I was wondering if this is just a glitch or failure of technology/calculations/MFP and if anyone else noticed this as well.

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry, as in all my time here, it's yet to be right. It says IF everyday were like today. Meaning exact same calories and exact same movement, etc.

To gain 0.3 lbs is eating about 1000 cals over maintenance during that time period. It's not a glitch, it's math. The reason the 5 week prediction is never exact is because we never/rarely eat & exercise exactly the same everyday for 5 weeks. Apps such as Happy Scale offer predictions based on a few different formulas, do you check it out if you're interested in predictions.

My 5 weeks prediction was I would lose 10kg in 5 weeks if everyday was like today. Well 8 weeks later even after being consistently told I would drop an average of 10kg in 5 weeks I am 7.7kg lighter. I wear a heart rate monitor all day and night to track my burn and have been weighing my food and following a food plan so my logging is pretty accurate.

So if I ate 1600cals every day with no extra exercise, I'd gain weight?
    (Good thing I exercise...)

I can never remember anyway when the date arrives

I stopped completing my diary because it would always tell me that I would gain.

    Go home MFP, you're drunk:

It's only an imperfect prediction. Don't sweat it. Our measuring and logging isn't perfect either. Just keep up the good work!
