I don't get it. They want us to lose weight. They want us to improve our health. They want us to be active. And every doctor I see, tells me that what I'm doing to reach those goals, I shouldn't be doing. It's too hard on the body. I'm too old for that. I'm 52. I'm not too old for anything! Uggghh! Okay. I'm done venting.

    LOL. I didn't start running till I was 55.

I use it for the stats and getting at my numbers, but I hardly look at what my few connections do.

    December Running Totals (miles)
12/1- 6.58 (warmup, speed work, cool down)
    12/2- extra rest day :(
    12/3- 6.40 easy
    12/4- 8.12 easy
    12/5-15.00 long slow run
    12/6-9.15 easy with hills
    12/7- planned rest day
    12/8- 8.29 easy
    12/9- 6.00 easy
12/10- unscheduled rest day (plan was 6 miles)

    Total- 59.54
    Goal- none stated

Today's notes: I was up too late last night, and had a conference call for work last right till 5. Great running weather, but between lack of sleep and getting a poor jump out of work, the planned 6 miles didn't happen. Revised plan is to run my 6 tomorrow on what was originally the scheduled rest day. I have tomorrow off work, so I get the added advantage of being able to run in daylight.

    Upcoming races:
Dec. 19, 2015 Reindeer Run 5K (Rochester, NY)
Jan. 9, 2016 Winter Warrior Half Marathon (Rochester, NY)
April 18, 2016 Boston Marathon (Hopkinton, MA)

Was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with stress fractures in their feet. I have a tender spot that is mildly swollen and has a red spot.

    12/1: 3 miles
    12/2: Rest
12/3: 6 miles with Thursday crew
    12/4: Rest
    12/5: Busy day in NYC
    12/6: Rest from busy day
    12/7: Rest
    12/8: Busy!
12/9: Too sleepy from a late-night Buffy binge on Netflix...
12/10: 6 miles with Thursday crew

Ran the first 3 mile loop with the thigh compression sleeve, then took it off for the 2nd loop. Took about a mile for the hamstring to realize it had to actually do work, but it stopped feeling weird and started feeling normal about 1.5 miles in! So I am going to take this as a sign that I can start building up mileage again and get back to running 4-5 days a week. Very exciting stuff! Plus, paced 8:15 between the two loops, and that's the fastest I've paced since I ran Philly 3-ish weeks ago, and it didn't feel exhausting, so I think race recovery is in the bag! :)

    Upcoming races:
    5/1/2016: New Jersey Marathon
6/12/2016: Run & Ride HM at Cedar Point

    12/6 6 miles
    12/10 6 miles
Gotta stop being such a slacker....between travel and just being lazy, I'm not getting a lot of days running in. Fortunately, I can at least run a few longer runs, for me anyway, to catch up for now. Gonna keep on going. :)

@Elise4270 I have had stress fractures, but they were closer to my toes and felt like some was pounding a nail into the top of my feet

4.6 miles today longest run yet! Yay! I started out 9 months ago, 50lbs heavier and no exercise, completed the c25k program in may. Since I've run two 5ks and now I am working towards a 10k!

@afrench050612 That's terrific! Yay you! I did C25K and ran my first 5 km without stopping at parkrun on Saturday 5 December, and hope to do it again there tomorrow.

Are you using a 10K training app?
