    Evening all. I'll post miles later, but now I have a tech question. Received a Garmin vivoactive, but it won't pair with my LG G3. I did get it briefly to pair with the phone OUTSIDE the Garmin Connect Mobile app, but I found a note online saying that doing that would be less than optimal.

    Anyone with any ideas? I must admit I'm tempted to get the receipt and trade it in (as defective) on a Forerunner 235 (or similar)....

    I'm no help on the vivo active. Mine pairs through Bluetooth, so I shouldn't think outside matters. I had a hard time today getting my 620 to talk to my phone after my run, maybe Garmin is slow. My husband just got the 235 and had no problem pairing it today though. Good luck, I hope it works or you find a better fit.

    Just got in 6 more stomach churning miles this evening (despite waiting 5 hours after the way too big mid-day meal). Hopefully I'll learn for next year not to go too crazy on food over the holidays. On the plus side, my century ride Sunday and long run Monday should take care of some of the excess.

    12/1 - 4 miles
    12/2 - 4 miles (hill repeats at a 7 pace)
    12/3 - 4 miles
    12/5 - 6 miles
    12/6 - 4 miles (5k in 19:26 - 2nd/85 runners)
    12/7 - 15 miles (w. speedwork session in middle)
    12/8 - 6 miles
    12/9 - 7.5 miles (w. group tempo run session in middle)
    12/10 - 7 miles
    12/11 - 3 miles
    12/12 - 1 mile (pre lift warmup)
    12/13 - 10 miles
    12/14 - 20 miles (w. speedwork session in middle)
    12/15 - 10 miles
    12/16 - 8.5 miles
    12/17 - 1 mile (pre lift warmup)
    12/18 - 4 miles
    12/19 - 6 miles (10k in 40:12 - 2nd age group)
    12/20 - 20 miles
    12/22 - 13 miles (w. 6 miles of speedwork)
    12/23 - 5 miles
    12/24 - 10 miles (recovery & speedwork session)
    12/25 - 6 miles

    Total: 175 miles
    Goal: 230 miles
    Remaining: 55 miles (9/day)

    I ended up doing a hard reset of my 225 when that happened (dig up the kepress sequence on how to do this on the watch) and just did the initial sync with it via the garmin connect phone app (by adding a device) and it worked okay. Still, I'd trade in for the 235 regardless based on reviews I've seen of each.

    Not sure about the Garmin, sorry.. But Fitbit has the same issue with my phone! I have a usb that stays plugged into the computer and it syncs my activity automatically when I'm within range of the computer - then I refresh the app on my phone and it tells me where I'm at (one of the other reasons I wanted a fitbit charge HR as it displays the activity on the screen. The fitbit flex - my old one, would only display so many steps and then I would have no idea past that point).

    My phone is new, out this year.. but the bluetooth in it is not great apparently that is the reason it is unable to pair with the fitbit. I called the phone manufacturer and they told me they have no plans to update the bluetooth software on the phone either .. so until I get myself a new phone next year, I have to sync with the good old trusty computer :confounded: LOL

    Who else is getting this on their home page on MFP? According to tech support, it's only happening to "some" users, but it's awfully frustrating!

    7dtmiu9yj79o.png

    There was a "load more" button yesterday so that I could load friend posts, but now it's gone! And the iOS app doesn't work either. I just want to see what everyone is up to! :(

    @kristinegift Mine has been doing that too. It worked for a couple of hours last night via the iOS app but it hasn't worked this morning on either the app or the website. Incredibly frustrating!

    1st-18th = Sick
    19th = 5km
    21st = 2.5km
    22nd = 3km +20mins elliptical & strength training
    24th = 5km
    26th = 5km

    Total month to date: 20.5km/35km

    Well done to everyone who made it out for a run yesterday! I couldn't have dragged myself away from the festivities for even a minute. As always, the motivation some of you lot have always astounds me. I hope everyone had a nice day :)

    Seems running two times a day is easier approach to cover more miles.

    12/24: 6 miles
    12/25: 7 miles
    12/26: 4 miles on the dreadmill

    Resorted to the dreadmill this morning. It was 39 degrees and 15 mph winds, so I put on some warm layers and prepped to go out. But when I stepped outside and the wind was blowing spitting rain into my face and the wind was tearing through my insufficient layers (I didn't bring enough windy-run braving clothes with me). Since I was only doing a short one today anyway, I gave up and retreated inside to my parents' treadmill.... which shares a room with the furnace, so the perfect room for summer treadmilling is a nightmare in winter. I was so hot and sweaty when I got done, I thought I was going to pass out. Will try to avoid in future!

    Upcoming races:
    5/1/2016: New Jersey Marathon
    6/12/2016: Run & Ride HM at Cedar Point (maybe)

    @kristinegift - that sounds like a terrible dreadmill run! Might as well run in the Florida heat!

    Haven't read the whole thread I have no Internet. I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas. Are you all ready for the next few weeks of packed gyms?

    Since I'm on BlackBerry I not sure where I am mile wise.

    12/26 - 4 miles with Skip. Can't wait to see PT on Monday.

    @kristinegift - I didn't have that screen, but I got a feed item from an MFP friend exclaiming that her news feed was fixed. Hopefully yours is too by now. I did notice a long lag for Garmin to sync with MFP today, both to send my run to MFP and to get calories eaten from MFP. Then I force-synced my Vivofit to Garmin Connect, and all of a sudden everything synced. It seems odd that doing that should change anything, so maybe I just happened to sync the Vivofit right before the techies behind the scenes fixed stuff.

    I was about to just pass this by because I have no gym membership currently . . . but the running club talked me into a 3 month facilities membership at a local college for winter speed work. I wonder if the college fitness facilities will have the same influx of resolutionaries that a traditional gym has. Oh, well. Even if it does, they'll all be gone by Valentine's Day.
