I use the Ziploc Steamer bags - they work great! Can just do scrambled eggs or throw in some cheese and veggies for omelet. Depending on microwave strength they are done in 90 secs to 2 min :)

I do this almost every day at the office and the best part is no mess - just empty onto a plate and throw bag away :-)

This is my one or two egg microwave omelet maker. Shown is a one egg omelet with 3 pepper onion blend and some hot sauce! You can meat cheese or whatever you want in your omelet. I get to work a few minutes early and make them there or you can make at home and heat up at the office. Good luck!

Make a yummy filling egg recipe as follows:
1/2 cup egg beaters (or 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites)
    1/2 shredded hashbrowns
1/4 cup turkey sausage crumbles or canadian bacon
    1/4 cup shredded cheese

I mix the eggs and hashbrowns together and nuke them for about 1 minute, then I add the turkey crumbles or canadian bacon and nuke for another minute. When it is light & fluffy after cooking. I top it with the cheese. Enjoy!

I sit right next to a kitchenette at work as well and everyone always tells me my breakfast smells so good.

I bring the two raw eggs to work, in a bowl I just add some spices, and some salt and pepper, crack them in a glass bowl or microwave safe container, and put them in the microwave.I mix every 30 seconds for probably two minutes and they are good to go ! nice and fluffy

I make frittatas every sunday night, and bring a slice (1/5th) to work every day.

I do egg whites, but whole eggs are just as easy ...

Sautee up some veg in a pan that you can put into the oven
Add about 2 cusps eggs and mix a little to get the veg suspended in the egg matrix
    Top with cheese
    into a 350 oven for 20 minutes.

I tend to do the following 2 varieties:

Sauteed Spinach, onion, hot pepper, and feta

    Mushroom, Frank's, Blue cheese

With egg whites 1/5th of the recipe is under 125 calories. I haven;t done the math on whole eggs.

I used to sit by the kitchen and the eggs never bother anyone.
They'd know if I had added garlic to it though.

Maybe they just don't tell you?

My co-worker cooks breakfast quesadillas a couple times a week. The eggs in them smell so bad that I have to leave our office and go outside for a 20 minute walk when she cooks them. Sometimes the smell is still lingering in the air when I get back. Makes me gag!

I've never told her directly that their smell makes me feel very queasy. I figure it's my problem and just leave the area until the smell dissipates. :-)

My coworkers are rather vocal so they'd say something, it's how my team is actually.

I've also made the omelet cupcakes from Skinnytaste.com & emilybites.com and reheat those

I always figured everyone not saying/doing anything about the egg smell just happens to be a person who enjoys eating eggs. The thought of eating an egg makes me shudder, and the smell really bothers me! I don't think it's that eggs don't smell when you cook them, it's probably just that most people don't find the smell unpleasant!

Maybe you just have an egg-loving team! haha

Like a few others who posted, I can't stand the smell of eggs.
BUT, I agree with the poster who said that it's her problem. I believe it is MY problem. That the smell bothers me so terribly, I mean. I would NEVER tell anyone cooking or heating up eggs that it bothers me just as I would NEVER tell anyone about fish either. I often have to avoid our lunchroom when someone has had eggs or fish though. Why? Yep. It's MY problem. I am VERY sensitive to smells and they make me LITERALLY feel sick. :grumble:

Please don't cook eggs at the office if the kitchen is near people's workspace. I sit near the kitchen and the smell is terrible!

for a couple bucks at the store you can buy a bag of frozen precooked egg patties. they come in handy for makin a breakfast sammich at the office.

Depends where you live. You can buy no such thing in the UK, or cartons of egg whites.

These are delicious and taste great warmed up in the microwave. I don't mix the cheese in though, I sprinkle a little on top of each one before cooking. Otherwise, you get cheese in some but not in others.

And hey even if it was. I dont care in the least if someone doesn't like the smell of what I'm eating. I get the occasional complaint when I bring in leftover fish and microwave it at work, but my response is usually a variation on; "hmmpff. Fascinating."

Mix with tuna fish and popcorn then cook on high for about 5 minutes.

    </sarcasm>

Agree with all the scrambled eggs suggestions (I prefer mine out of a skillet, but the microwave works in a pinch). Just a minute or two should do it.

have you ever tried Shakshuka? it's a really tasty dish - basically a spicy (or not spicy) tomato sauce that you poach eggs in. You can add sausages to it and/or sprinkle feta on top. it's very easy to make in advance and just reheat or eat cold. In fact, that's what i had for supper tonight. Here is one recipe http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2010/04/shakshuka/ (that someone actually put on here so you can log the calories). I make it very similar but use less oil. you can go up or down with the chilis.

Whats the best way to make eggs ahead of time that I can take to the office for breakfast? (not hard boiled)

    Thanks!

I make what are called Omlet Bites.

It is 12 egg whites, 4 whole eggs. Mixed which what ever omlet ingredients you want poor the mixture into a sprayed or non stick muffin tin. Cook at 350 for about 25 minutes or until the eggs are fully cooked. I put these in the fridge and take them to work they taste just fined warmed up in a microwave. The other omlet ingredients overpower the eggs in the microwave so you won't stink up the office if you are worried about that.

I have this crave lately for jalapeno on everything.

So, I have been chopping a fresh jalapeno up, and adding 2 or 3 mushrooms and microwaving them for about 25 seconds, then adding 2 beaten eggs and microwaving for 60 seconds, strring then going 20 more seconds..... yummmmmmm

the eggs are not smelly... at least not as bad as the pop corn one of the folks here makes that smells like sweatsocks

I make mine at work. I bring 2 egg whites in a small tuperware container with a little salt and pepper and microwave for 1 minute with the cover off and upside down on top of the bowl.

We have a toaster over so i bring an english muffin and put it in the oven while the eggs are cooking. I top it with a half slice of cheese. Very yummy and not too bad for calories.

They turn out a lot like McDonalds egg mcmuffins only with less calories.

I am the first one to work in the morning so it is easy for me to make breakfast here.

Ask you boss to move you it is unreasonable to restrict what someone eats because you don't like the smell. Someone else won't mind at all.

I just did two eggs with a splash of water, spinach and feta in a glass bowl. Stirred every 30 seconds for 1.5 minutes. I think this will be my new 2nd breakfast!

    Egg in a Mug:

Crack 1-2 eggs in a mug, add a splash of milk, microwave for 1min mix, microwave for 30sec until you get the fluffyness you want.

    enjoy

Not sure what eggs you are cooking. I can smell them strongly as I'm typing this.
Maybe it is the egg beaters that smell? I'm not sure, but it is foul - and I love eggs. I ate 2 this morning.

Oh man, somebody brought in fish one time and it smelled the whole day. Yuk. Most fish doesn't smell that badly unless it's not fresh.

Do deviled eggs count as 'hard boiled'? All the ease of hard boiled eggs with massively more interesting taste.

    Totally. Do it.
One of my co-workers has been bringing in deviled eggs using hummus? I keep meaning to try it

    6 eggs
    1/3 cup+1 Tbsp Sabra hummus
    2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
    ¼ tsp freshly ground pepper
    ¼ tsp salt
    3 teaspoons relish
    Paprika for garnish.
