What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

I broke up on 6th April. I was 88kg then and full of health problems. Her stuff is still at my place. She has not come to pick it up yet.
I wanted to change the way I look so that the next time she comes over to get her things, I want her to know that I am living a better life without her. That it is her loss that she doesn't cherish this relationship.
I know it is unhealthy for me psychologically but I have always functioned better in life when there is a chip on my shoulder.
I get complacent when I am doing good. I get lazy when I get praises from others.
It is the 26th May. I am at 81kg now. I can fit into my old clothes. My muscles are more defined. My health problems are gone/reduced. I have more energy and I am in a much better mood everyday.9 -
@WeimingLi2979 Congratulations on your weight loss and improved health. I understand what you mean about that chip on your shoulder being more motivating than praise from others. I also find myself thinking that I've "made it" (and can relax a bit) when I get lots of positive comments. Which can lead to me slacking off on my own goals, merely based on other people's perception of me. Not helpful
If we recognize this kind of thinking in ourselves, I think it is important to look for ways that we can be our own motivation, rather than looking primarily for other people's responses to what we are doing. Because any kind of external motivation will come and go, so if we depend on that (even the chip on the shoulder) then we are ultimately always at other people's mercy.
Your breakup is still fairly fresh at this point, but someday her thoughts of you will no longer matter to you, and then what is going to motivate you? Our health and well-being are too important to be tied to other people in this fashion.3 -

I understand what you are trying to say. I agree with it. Motivation should come from within so that it can be longer lasting and more sustainable.
Over the month and a half of exercising. I felt that I was coping well with the breakup. Maybe because of the released of endorphins? My mood and energy level has greatly increased.
I also realised that my past health problems such as heartburn every night, heat rash, high BP, swelling in my feet, hot flashes. Those are all gone. Also the fact that I can fit into my old clothes now.
I feel like my motivation is slowly transitioning. Slowly from trying to "prove her wrong" to trying to improve my overall health because I like the way I look and the way I feel now. Those are slowly taking a bigger role in motivating me to continue my exercise and diet.
I still have the chip on my shoulder but other factors are slowly taking a bigger role now.8 -
Couldn't resist going in to weigh this morning. Glad I did. I hit first mini goals that I posted (170lb), so making second goal by appt June 17 should be a given. But we all know what tends to happen when we start thinking, "This is a snap!"! For me, something happens that makes me think, "Just this one won't hurt!" and before I know it, the entire cake is only crumbs. So, as I work on my mindset, I am happy to have made it this far, but realize there is so much farther that I need to go! Since June 17 is 3 weeks away, I will work to hit the third goal instead and set new ones if I need to. My prayer for us all today- stay focused, stay positive, and stay away from the negative stuff that holds us back!7

My mini goal right now is to try to find a place where all of my friends can still meet up once the news feed dies. I'm on maintenance right now, but would never have reached this point without the help of my friends. Many people work well on their own, but many of us work better with friendly people around. I get new exercise, recipe, food, health tips and ideas from reading my friends posts. The forums are nice, but they're no replacement for the news feed for those of us that do use it multiple times daily. So, that's my goal, to find a place where we can still "chat".7

I’ve had a really long period of stable weight, or just bouncing around the same few kgs. Then earlier this year the stability ended and I’m back up again. Two weeks ago I recommitted to my healthier habits, so my first mini goal is 95kgs. My weekly goal is also two gym sessions and to run home from work twice3

Actually the scale at the gym says I’m 95.6 this morning. So goal one isn’t so far 😊

Staying within my macros has resulted in weight loss for three weeks in a row. I also look good in my clothes again.4

My mini goal right now is to start dropping weight again. I have been able to lower my medication dosages for my diabetes and my heart condition, but playing with the meds also plays with my progress. I have actually put 5 pounds back on in the last few weeks.4

Ten days ago I posted my next Mini Goal was to weigh 150 pounds. I DID IT! Thursday I walked up to the Community Centre.....it's been three weeks since my last weigh in. I now weigh 150.3 pounds. 😁
The most difficult process for me has been the psychological aspect of having a shrinking body. Having clothes that were once too tight not only FIT again.....but eventually become LOOSE has been a real mind bender. My weight at its highest was 188 pounds....and for several years I was up and down between the 170s and 180s. I remember my goal was 163 lbs FOREVER. My Marginally Overweight Category. In November of 2022 I weighed 184 and I realized I was tired of tap dancing thru the 80s and 70s. I decided to be REALLY patient and work on LONG TERM PERMANENT CHANGE. IT WORKED!! Thru just walking and yoga, I slowly toned up. The yoga gradually made me crave more healthy food and less processed food. The walks were meditative. I had learned that weight first came off from the hard fat surrounding your organs. Heart, liver, kidneys. So when the scale showed a few pounds....I celebrated my heart and other organs performance....rather than inches lost. I knew they would eventually come just like any other large project.
I drank lots of water....I increased my consumption of fruit and started reading labels. My increased fitness lead me to add more cardio. The end result is......RIGHT NOW......I'VE LOST 34 POUNDS IN 18 MONTHS. THE LAST TEN POUNDS CAME OFF IN SIX WEEKS. it seems to have been a "whoosh" effect as I suddenly stopped being able to tolerate sodium and anything processed. I crave food in its least processed state. I can't believe I ate a deli potato salad for lunch 3x a week just two years ago!!! 😩 OR that my favourite snack was Triscuit crackers covered in melted cheddar cheese 🧀 in the microwave!!
I ate them like nachos a few times a week....... 😩 My new snack is half a cup of unflavoured Greek yoghurt with a handful of fresh blueberries.
My next Mini Goal is a complete closet cleanout!! I reached for a nice pair of denim and a white button up blouse on Friday to wear around the city. Both size 10...my outfit was too big!! My husband confirmed when he got home....those look huge!! I KNOW IN MY HEART THAT THIS IS A PERMANENT WEIGHT LOSS . I'm going to maintain at 150 pounds.....or more specifically.....train myself to maintain at this weight. Ultimately.....next year......my goal is to lose the final 20 pounds. Then again.....if my body decides to continue losing the final 20 pounds on its own, that's fine too. 🙂 I'll patiently wait!!
There's an illustrative series on Pinterest titled....THATS AS MUCH AS. It lists various pounds lost....with an illustration of an object that weighs the equivalent. I've used it often over the last 18 months and as a Canadian.....I am INCREDIBLY PROUD TO SAY!!
I'VE LOST 34 POUNDS!!! THAT'S AS MUCH AS THE STANLEY CUP!! 😉♥️12 -
My mini goal is to get back to the point I was when I posted my last mini goal--I've gained back 5, rather than lost 5. So losing those 5 again is my new mini-goal. And after that will be getting into onederland.5

Putting a halt to my expanding gut. My PC chair is groaning under the strain and begging me to lose weight.2

To get back into shape and lose the extra weight I put on. Kinda hard when the sweet tooth attacks3

A sub mini goal [...] is get 8 hours of actual sleep every night, consistently.
And I lost 5 lbs, which falls short of the 7 lbs I was aiming for, but I'm actually happy with the loss. My mini goals for June are to further increase the amount of sleep I get, and (again) to lose 7 lbs.3 -
Day 2 for me. I try to count proteins, carbs, and calories as I prepare my meal. My carbs are way high.😬 my goal for this week is to meal prep everything I can for the week, so I can watch those darn carbs.3

What's wrong with carbs?0 -
My mini goal: I bought the cutest dresses for work online. We know how that goes! I ordered my size, but they run small 🤦🏻♀️ my mini goal is to get into those dresses without having to wear uncomfortable shape wear.5
-
My mini goal is to get down a clothing size before the middle of June so I fit back in my smaller size clothes I bought for this summer holidays, I’m half way there 😝4
-
Out running my kids5
-
next goal: Below 230 lbs and then buying a pillow/cushion for my bath tub so I can do relaxing soaks after weights/running.3

Boom! Today at the gym 94.9, so I guess the next goal is 90kgs! Really happy with the progress.
I’ve been doing well too with running twice a week and two gym sessions.

I've kind of stalled out. I've been bouncing around the same pound (difference in .6 of a pound) for the last 3 weigh ins. This week I'm determined to lose at least 1 whole pound. Gonna add at least 1 walk around the warehouse per shift. I'm determined!!12

Moving down a notch on my belt. I have been using the same belt and have been punching new holes and trimming off the end as needed. It feels incredible each time I need to punch a new hole!11

My first mini goal was 10% of my body weight. I did that, and the next goal was to get my BMI below 40.
A few days ago, I hit that goal, so my next mini goal is to reach the loss of 15% of my body weight. 4 pounds to go!
I have planned out a whole series of little goals over the course of this year. The little victories keep me motivated!
My first "medium" goal is to lose 50 pounds by 7 Sept for a big event. That milestone will also put me at 20% of my body weight lost. 33 down. 17 to go!15 -
Mine is to get under 200. I'm about 10 away now. It's really my first goal since I'm still in the early stages of this journey (started at 217)12
-
Being able to use the belt that comes with dresses! There is no give to these belts and the notches are so far down the belt, it's a tight squeeze!10
-
My mini-goal is to become more regular with my nutrition and exercise.10
-
My mini-goals are to be able to do 5 knee push-ups and for my jeans to not feel tight when buttoned8
