I have lupus, and have had arthritis since I was 12. In addition, scoliosis, and serious back injuries that have never healed properly (due to the extra strain of the scoliosis). It was pain that immobilized me (that and pericarditis..) and led to the weight gain. I still have pain, but it's moderated now by a powerful prescription NSAID. When I was able to move, the weight really started coming off.

My body still attacks my heart. But its much easier to push through and at least do *some* things because I'm now 70 lbs lighter. Aiming for another 25 lbs, I want to make life as easy as possible on my poor heart.

At my heaviest I had hip pain (I was born with dislocated hips and was operated on to correct them when I was younger), and would always get cramps in my abdomen from the lack of exercise/cardio. I lost 10lbs at first, and barely noticed the pain anymore as it disappeared, after another 15lbs, I never got the pain in my abdomen again

At my heaviest, I had ankles, knee and hip pain. I've lost 12kg and all that pain has gone.

Encouraging to hear lots of knee and foot problems are relieved with weight loss... I'm hoping for this!
