A routine from my doctor, so it can't get worse. I do some warmup and cool down already but I'm probably not doing everything I should because i never could really do much in athletics so i don't really know what to do.

I got knee exercises from my doctor and it was a while before I started doing them regularly and am really glad I did. Having bad knees was really holding me back. I've slowly been strengthening them. I hiked three miles without issues yesterday, which is not something I could have done this time last year.

You could ask your doctor for a referral to a physical therapist who can help you design a routine custom for you.

You really need to have a complete blood panel from your Dr. If you are low on Magnesium, he will tell you and prescribe what you need to do about it. There may be other mitigating factors.
