healthy fats

I have been trying to eat less carbs with more protein. With that comes fat. Today I've had hard boiled eggs an ounce of cheddar and lots of veggies. Also some canned chicken breast. My fat percentage today is 40% I was wondering if anyone has a list of healthy fats that have actually aided in losing weight

Any particular reason you're cutting carbs so much?

healthy fats: fatty fish, avocado, nuts, olives, olive oil, flax. Pretty much any fat is okay to eat with exception of trans fats, which should be avoided.

Fats aren't generally considered to help with aiding in weight loss. Since fats are so calorically dense it's so much easier to over eat on them than many other things.

That said, the above list is entirely accurate.

The people that I hear talk most about large fat percentages are usually low carbers or keto peeps. This diets are entirely valid, but the reason they work is the same as any dietary choice... restriction of any kind helps to reduce overall calorie intake, and fewer calories and more movement are what lead to fat loss, barring some larger medical concern.

    This!

Want to reiterate that weight loss comes down to calories. Any way of eating would need a calorie deficit in order to lose weight .

@angelraena With only 3 Posts that tells me you are new to MFP and the Forums.
I recommend some good reads for you to start this journey as my "incredibly generic advice" when someone is new to MFP and struggling.

Fats are for good digestion and other bodily functions, not for weight loss. that said, nuts, full fat dairy, avos, oils, nut butters and eating the fat of your meat are good sources of....well...fat...

Kick that fat up to 60%. Macros are best at 20/20/60.....unless you wish to keep accumulating body fat....
