100% American, by way of great/grandparents from Wales (early 1900's- grandfather), Ireland (very late 1800's- great grandparents), Germany (late 1800's-great-grandparents) and England (early 1600's--very soon after the Mayflower- several greats-grandparents). Total mutt. But I identify most with my Welsh/Irish heritage. Apparently a Celt at heart. :)

They closed down the "Canadian" thread. It's hard to believe some of the hateful posts there.

This question, in the real world, is taboo and could get a person reprimanded or even fired in a place of employment.

That said... Swedish, Norwegian, German, English, and Okie (Okie covers just about all the rest with several Native American tribes mixed in).

50% Polish, 25% German and 25% I have no idea. My dad never cared to ask his dad, but I'm told there is English (UK), and Norwegian in there; maybe some native American (dad's guess) but I have no idea what kind.

On my mom's side: German and Irish immigrated in the 1800's, British immigrated in the 1600's.
On my Dad's side: German and Danish in the 1800's, British in the 1600's.

Born in Indiana and moved to Georgia when I was six. I consider myself a southerner with midwestern parents.

I'm Irish, Scottish and English ancestry - born in Canada. I think people that live in North America are curious about their heritage because their family history is, very often, unknown. Hundreds of years ago, most people were born, lived and died in the same area. Now we move around the world with shallow roots and we need to know that we do have deeper roots someplace.
