New quest bars...

I just recieved mine in the mail today. I chose the cinnamon roll and the apple flavors. I'm not sure what to really expect sinve I've only tried maybe 4 flavors in the past before the recipe change and I wasn't impressed.0

Recieved mine today also. Got the Cookie flavors combo.
Shared the Cookies & Cream with hubs, we both liked it. We didn't feel that the fake sweetener aftertaste was as pronounced in this version like it was in the original (the original original) of this particular flavor. (Can only compare to original because I never tried the corn fiber version before of this specific flavor)
Hubs didn't think the texture was as good, but I didn't notice any difference, didn't seem better or worse than the original. Did have a lot of cookies pieces in the bar, though.
Cookie dough will probably be tried tomorrow.0 -

It's the ones I picked too, although it's been ages since I tried the original ones. Still haven't got them...0 -
Just got mine, to me they tasted about the same but were a bit softer.0

I got mine. I guess I've forgotten the original flavor, as I think the new ones are getting close. I sent my review to Quest:First, thanks for the samples.
You have definitely made improvements in how you do the corn fiber based bars. In particular, I'd say the texture is now better than even the original bars. The original bars had a rather gooey and stickiness to them - I would always make sure to eat them in wrapper because of that. These bars seem far better to touch, and the mouth-feel on them is better for it.
As far as pure taste, you've definitely improved from the initial use of corn fiber bars. Originally, there was a lot more of an after taste with them that was a bit sicky-sweet and metallic. Most of this is gone now. The direct sweetness isn't exactly the same as the original isomalto-oligosaccharide based bars, but that isn't entirely a bad thing for me as the consumer. The isomalto-oligosaccharides tended to cause a strong craving, similar to the saltiness of potato chips causing the can't eat just one sensation, but for the original Quest Bars, this was a kind of sweetness. I find the new bars strike a balance where I get a candy bar-ish taste but I'm not reactionarily looking to down another one. I hope the removing that quality doesn't hurt your sales, as I do appreciate that difference as a consumer.
I also want to mention that last week I bought on my own a S'mores flavor. I'll admit that I did not like the S'mores flavor originally as it seemed excessively dry. I'm not sure how much you've worked on that once since it was corn fiber from the beginning, but it definitely has improved too. I'll definitely add it my list of flavors I like.0 -
I wish Quest's protein powders ran a more competitive price. I recently tried their cookies and creme and it had actual tiny bits of chocolate cookie type stuff in it that was pretty good. Their salted caramel tastes a lot like pure caramel instead of vanilla extract with a hint of caramel flavor like some others I've tasted.0

got mine in the mail yesterday - just had the chocolate chip cookie dough and i have to say, they definitely have improved. texture is much softer like they used to be, but i felt like there was an artificial taste to them that i didn't get with the originals..0

I haven't tried the chocolate chip cookie dough yet. I'm having the B Up PB&J for today and tomorrow's snack but I did notice that about the chocolate chip cookie dough with the old new formula.0 -
I got my freebies in the mail today. I won't be able to fit one in today so maybe tomorrow. I got the raspberry one and the chocolate pb.
Eta to correct autocorrect. ....I don't know what verizon/Samsung did with that last update but my autocorrect is hideous now lol.0 -
I got mine last Friday.
Ate the peanut butter one. Nothing to compare it to so I don't know if it was better.
Also got the white chocolate raspberry (my favorite), but have not tried it yet.
I still have a few of them to eat before I try the new one.0 -
I need to check my po box! Im excited try them0

Still nothing here but they did say for international orders the wait would be a bit longer0

I picked up the cookie combo and didn't really enjoy either. The texture has definitely improved, but it still tastes old.0

I got mine a few days ago--apple pie and cinnamon. I ate the apple pie yesterday. The texture seems a bit softer, a little more cake-like, not as hard or chewy like a tootsie roll. The flavor seemed about the same, perhaps slightly less sweet. I'd like a hint more cinnamon flavor. Haven't tried the new cinnamon roll yet.0

You people are crazy, yes they are slightly better but still have the nasty artificial sweetener taste. The old recipe was so much better. (17 boxes left, I stocked up lol)0
-
I forgot to mention tat I got around to trying my samples. The cinnamon roll taste a lot like cinnamon of course. I didn't care much for it. The apple pie on the other hand tasted a lot better in comparison. Like I said earlier I dont have much experience with Quest bars or their other products. Also, I've noticed I'm not as hungry after eating these things. This lasts for most of the day. Does that happen to anybody else?0

Is there any way to identify these new ones by the label? I'd be interested in picking up a single bar once they are being stocked at my local TJs.0
-
Mine came within a week of 'signing up' for it.
Apple - decent, first taste was odd but got better, wish the apple pieces were bigger
Cinnamon roll - Didn't really taste like one, bland looking, was still good
Apple was way better
Favorite: chocolate chip and cookies n creme. The white chocolate raspberry is good too0 -

Nope they are the same0 -

I just ate my chocolate peanut butter quest bar as part of my breakfast. It's not gross. It has some flavor but could use more pb and chocolate. The texture is like a very dense, sticky brownie. I'd buy it.
Sometime tomorrow I'll try the white chocolate raspberry. (Didn't think it would pair well with coffee lol) It used to be my favorite so I'm hoping it's still good.0 -
Cookie dough was good, softer and easier on the jaw than the original formula. However it had a notable artificial sweetener aftertaste.
This flavor was my most favorite flavor before the reformulation, and a big reason why was because it didn't have a sweetener aftertaste like so many of their other flavors did.
Regardless, it was still good and I'd purchase if on sale, just as before, but I don't feel any urge to hoard these bars just as before anymore. That old fiber must be one helluva drug if Quest thought it wise to remove it despite how that move would affect repeat business.0 -
got mine today(im in the us) havent tried them yet I got chocolate brownie and double chocolate chunk.0
-
Man, where's mine? My mail box is open on an inner city street. No body better have stolen them.0
-
I finally tried both. The cookies and cream I really liked, but the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough had an aftertaste that took forever to go away0
-
I already got (and inhaled) my two free bars. Cookie dough and cookies and creme. I hadn't tried them before so I have nothing to compare to, but they were really good!0
