It's this, but like 20 years older.

It's what commonly goes by the name of a mult-gym. It's a home or small area (like a hotel or apartment workout area) version of machines at a health club. Depending on the model it combines several of the health club style machines into one.

I'd ask someone how to use the particular one you have access to or get the manufacturer and model and Google for the instructions for that unit.

    Good luck.

Start with things you understand and get your food intake sorted

No machine is going to lose the 15lbs that's down to a defecit

If it looks too complicated it's probably not that effective

I'm not dropping to 1200 calories. 1400 is bad enough.

I'm sorry but where did I say drop to 1200?

    You all do. lol.

    No, actually. We all don't.

If it has one of these machines, use it but NEVER MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ANYONE. Even worse for a dude.

 That looks like what we had to use in my 'Fitness' class in undergrad (weightlifting was actually required and graded, and this was a 'girls' school').

    Who all do?

I don't know anybody who eats 1200 calories, I lost the majority of my 53lbs eating 1800 calories on average

If anybody tells you to eat 1200 calories without knowing your stats tell them where to get off

Sorry, I really shouldn't generalize, but I always hated posting here because everyone tells me the same thing: "Eat 1200 calories and you'll lose weight!"

Honestly it could be in my head. I'd plateaued forever and then I didn't have a scale anymore, and since I'm afraid I'll obsess over it, I'm not allowed to purchase one. I probably have my "scared of getting big again" goggles on, but I look in the mirror and see no progress. I'll sneak off and weigh myself next chance I get, if I can find one somewhere.

Sounds like it's in your head. I very rarely see people suggesting 1200 as a goal. I think I've suggested it one time, for a person who was small/sedentary/older. Generally, many posters are warned away from 1200.

    +1

And if someone did do that there would be a dozen posters arguing with them for giving that advice without knowing your stats.

You all do? Aha. I personally preach eating as many calories as possible on a deficit, better results and you feel better overall. I personally cut around 2500-2700 calories and still am able to get down to 9% body fat. Too low and you end up going in circles.

I'm an older, petite woman eating 1200 calories at 5'2" and 61. After losing 3# a month for 6 months I'm upping to 1260 for the last few pounds. I work out 5 days a week. It's a small amount of calories and not fun. I could eat somewhat more when I was younger (don't know for sure as I didn't count calories).
