It amuses me how often people speak of pizza as if that gives any indication of what was eaten.

Usually when I hear pizza, I can imagine tomato sauce ,cheese and dough.
Then possibly a meat or veggie topping.
Its not that hard of a concept unless someone feels the need 2argue about what pizza is .

The macro and micro count on pizza can vary greatly. A thin crust veggie pizza vs. a thick crust meat lovers pizza vs. a cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza vs. stuffed crust supreme pizza ...

    It's not a small difference.

But the general concept of pizza is pretty straightforward... Your comment that when someone says pizza others wouldn't know what they've eaten seems to imply you don't know what pizza is, not that the nutritional profile is variable...

I would know the general shape the food was in, but how would I know what they ate? They may or may not have eaten meat. They may or may not have eaten flour/grains (could be cauliflower crust). They may or may not have eaten vegetables (could have a cheese sauce instead of tomato and only meat toppings). They may or may not have eaten cheese (could be vegan or lactose intolerant).

I would know what they ate as much as I'd know if they said "I had soup."

@Need2Exerc1se next time I'll use "medium Hawaiian pizza with regular sauce and regular cheese and no extra toppings on a pan crust from Pizza Hut is a balanced breakfast" just to appease you m'kay?

You don't need to know everything about what I eat unless you are planning to snatch my body.

No need to go on the offense. I was merely pointing out that whether a pizza is a balanced macro or micro meal is completely variable.

Yeah. It is almost like pizza is a nebulous concept and everyone defines it differently. In other threads where people talk about other nebulous concepts, I often ask them to explain what they mean by their terms. I then get some people that say "No, you knew exactly what they meant, this isn't a hard concept," and get a bit of a sideways implication that I'm obtuse or being obtuse in asking for clarification.

Or if I just want to snatch your pizza. Hawaiian's cool, but I'm not snagging a slice out of your hand if it has anchovies, at least that was my ex's initial strategy to keep the kids from wanting off her plate.

My self ground flour dough is vastly superior to your pathetic store-bought (read 'processed') flour dough, which is the debil.

Most (probably all) understand what is meant by "pizza" and understand that different types of pizza have varying nutritional profiles.

Only one question remains - can I log grinding my own flour as exercise? I'm trying to gain muscle.

You should buy pre-ground because you don't want to get supah bulky.

Pizza is a balanced breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Usually my pizza for breakfast is cold pizza. I love cold pizza, but sometimes this happens:

Any pizza will do, be it fast food chain pizza or fire roasted pizza or homemade pizza.

Surely no regular poster on MFP would resort to such passive aggressive insult techniques?! (see what I did there?)

I'm not really sure why any of that matters in the context of the OP. She ate pizza for breakfast. Her macros were balanced. She continued it throughout the day. Her macros stayed balanced. If you wanted to know what specific kind of pizza she ate that contributed to her perfect macros, why wouldn't you just ask?

My micros are actually not bad either... short on fiber, as you would expect... as well as vitamins and iron, but really... I ate pizza all day.

I would say quite short on protein too. Is there a reason your protein goal is so low, and not even hitting it. Goal of 84 grams and only achieved 66 grams. I would argue that even 84 isn't enough

@erickirb I had it higher, but was nagged at for it being too high, so now its lower... also, since my primary focus for now is shedding weight rather than building muscle, I'm not too concerned. Went with something like this: http://www.health.com/health/article/0,,20410520,00.html to determine, which puts me at 62 grams if i'm sedentary and 108 if I'm active. I am a student who spends most of her time sitting in class or filling out homework at home... I only get about 30 min of exercise a day, so how would you classify me? I'd say sedentary to lightly active, so 84 is fine.

Ok, now im really getting hungry. My breakfast was a protein shake, 1/2 cup blueberries and 1/2 cup blackberries.. All meat pizza sounds much better :p

@erickirb 14g per slice also isn't bad for a hawaiian... if you want more protein a different kind of pizza.

@btruesdale7 lol. This morning i had an egg, toast, seed butter, etc. Gotta say, I stayed full longer on the pizza, even though my cals wound up being about the same... I don't think I could do a breakfast with no solid food... my belly would be very unhappy with me.

When almost 50% of the calories come from fat, with the lowest macronutrient being protein, I would not call that a balanced meal. I would call that the standard american diet. Yes, you can still lose weight eating pizza 1 slice per meal. Despite that, I would argue against calling pizza hut pizza a balanced meal.
